My company just updated the Corporate Style Guide, and our materials will now be printed in Frutiger.  Working backwards I infer:

We don't like the look of Adobe
We wanted something humanistic
Didn't want anything Neo-Grotesk or geometric
Wanted sans-serif for a Logo

Since a license for the font is $400 for each user, we're supposed to use Verdana for everyday (non-presentation) work.
  Doesn't seem to be on the list in the chart, which is odd because according to the diagram it represents the top 50 fonts.  Don't see Geneva on it either.  Hmm.
