I find it pretty hard to hate Mo, even though he was a crucial part of the team that beat the Mariners in the 2000 and 2001 ALCS. 2001 still hurts, but that was a great World Series. Probably my favorite still, or maybe tied with '86.

Out of a combined 15 at bats, my two guys in the 19 inning game in Philadelphia tonight got two hits. No runs, no RBIs and one stolen base. And these are two of my best players. Man.

I failed to update my line-up in time to get Max Scherzer in.  On the other hand, he is having his ass handed to him by the Red Sox.  So, s'ok.

Wilson Valdez, Chase Utley's backup at 2B, pitched the 19th inning of that game last night and ended up with the win.  First position player to start a game in the field and end up the winning pitcher since Babe freakin' Ruth in 1920-something.  Probably the first time Wilson Valdez and Babe Ruth have ever been mentioned in the same sentence.

Appearances is a specific term in baseball that refers to pitching appearances. For position players, it'd be games played or plate appearances. If someone "leads the league in appearances", then they're a pitcher.
