As far as I'm concened no essiential movies have been made since 2007 - the year No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood were made.  I honestly can't recall any movies made since then that I couldn't do without.

It has been mentioned somewhere and I believe I said it's good except it doesn't have quite enough pug in it.

I'm not a fan of that kind of heroic fantasy comic so it doesn't amuse me as much as it might. My favorite parts are the little bits with the person who's supposedly telling the story to her dogs, like this one:
