We have yet to see any evidence of stuffed animal death in Achewood so none of this is canon yet. As far as we know only real animals can die.

trivia
Wild / stray cats live about 4 years, and cats in a good home/food/medicine live on average to 17.  Or so I have read.

cats have nine lives. squirrels have infinite lives (or act that way) and stuffed animals are an enigma.

I might have discovered something. We know Philippe's dad is dead and he was most likely an otter. But was he stuffed? The answer could do a lot to further our research.

If Philippe's dad wasn't stuffed, this offers two disturbing possibilities:

1) Philippe's mom is stuffed, and thus stuffed and real otters are capable of interbreeding; or
2) Philippe's mom is real, and Philippe is just spontaneously stuffed for some reason. (Perhaps both of his parents were carriers of the "plush toy" gene?)

This also raises the disturbing spectre of whether Teodor's parents were stuffed or not, although all evidence points to yes (especially given that plush bears are significantly smaller than real bears, while the same cannot necessarily be said for otters).

So Phillippes dad was stuffed and his mom was mounted?

Good, because you realize, what with hindsight always being 20 / 20 and such, har har, that you were until now discussing with the straightest of faces the reproductive habits of fictitious stuffed animals. It's not as though these are uncharted waters, but yeah, there is a point at which it is best to move on. Maybe you'll look back on this, fifteen years from now, a tumbler of bourbon in one hand and a Newport Light smouldering in the other, and you'll smile knowingly, an untold number of life lessons later. Whatever happened to that naïve little otter, you may ask yourself. Ha I can't believe I used to wonder how stuffed animals reproduced, another sip, turn the page.

AND... CURTAIN

Can't mount a stuffed otter without a little hindsight.

If these life lessons lead me to smoking Newport Lights, I'm having no part of any of them.

Bonus points for the correct umlaut in "naïve," though.

Honey?

Come on. Don't be this way.

Your mom made stroganoff. It would be pretty silly to try and slide stroganoff under the door, wouldn't it? Why don't you open up that door
