Haha. As flawed as the idiot who put it together, evidently.

Let's review week 13.
  • Sugah Rain and Banana Town both lose, so still no playoff spots clinched.
  • Big win for Magreaux Dogs to go to 9-4 and take sole possession of third place.
  • MJW also gets a big win. Owensboro loses. They're tied at 8-5. MJW currently holds the tiebreaker (total points scored) so they're #4 at the moment. Owensboro has tha Sugah Rain this week so that's a big match-up.
  • Lygars were eliminated from playoff contention with their loss. Incognitos and Monkeys holding on hope at 7-6.

My dumb superstitious attitude toward sports came through in a big way. I benched Brees in favor of Wilson, I think for only the second time this year, because I thought it would be bad luck to start Brees. Not only did it end up not hurting me, it gave me the total point tiebreaker.

Brees vs. Wilson is a hell of a good problem to have. I've got Matt Ryan and Philip Rivers, and considering how often they've both sucked this year I'm astonished my record is as good as it is.

Kaitlin grasped this implication immediately this morning.  On top of observing that my team is an also-ran.

    Week 14!
    • Banana Town def. Incognitos 164-155 to get to 11-3, take sole possession of first place, and clinch a playoff spot.
    • Owensboro 132, Sugah Rain 120. Owensboro still in 5th but in realistic striking distance. Banana Town vs. Sugah Rain next week, winner probably gets the #1 seed (which we all know means fuck all in this league).
    • Magreaux Dogs win to get to 10-4. Could actually clinch #1 seed next week if everything goes right. Neither the Dogs or the Rain have clinched playoff spots yet, but they'd need to lose next week AND have MJW and Owensobo win AND have both those teams overtake them on total points, so they're probably gonna make it.
    • MJW wins easily to stay in 4th. Need to win next week and stay ahead of Owensboro on total points (currently up by 16 and change) to clinch a spot.
    • Incognitos and Ham Sammiches eliminated from playoff contention. Venomous Monkeys technically not eliminated, but would have to outscore the other contenders by 300 points this week.

    Good luck everybody!

And the regular season endeth like so:
    • Tha Sugah Rain defeats Banana Town to clinch a playoff spot, reclaim a share of first, and take the tiebreaker over BT on total points. Banana Town, having already clinched a playoff spot, doesn't get too upset.
    • But what's this?! Magreaux dogs put up 217 points to also get to 11-4 and vault both TSR and Banana Town to take the #1 seed. Everyone feel bad for Ham Sammiches, who had the second-highest score in the league this week, and lost.
    • MJW and Owensboro both win; MJW has a higher overall point total, so they get the last playoff spot. 10-5 is a pretty good record, but the defending champ still ends up on the outside looking in.

    Semi-final matchups:
    (1) Magreaux Dogs (AW) vs. (4) Malcolm Jamal Warner (Miles)
    (2) THA SUGAH RAIN (A-Cap) vs. (3) Banana Town Beers (Carlos)

This is, I think, as evenly matched a playoff field as we've ever had. I have no freakin' idea who's going to win this thing. Good luck everybody.

I remember him getting taken in the draft right before I was going to select him. Probably didn't actually happen that way, but that's how I remember it.
