if by "exciting" you mean I am going to buy, it despite having all the previous published and self-published collections? Guilty as charged.

I was interested as heck until I saw the 2001 - 2004 span.
Don't feed a dude through a knothole, is what I'm thinking.

That's a good point. One volume could be unwieldy.

On the other hand I thought we'd get it all though Dark hoss but we only got three slim volumes. What happened to that deal? Low sales?

Available for pre-order! Glad to see the "Not Final Art" disclaimer because I wasn't crazy about the cover, though it also makes me a bit nervous they don't have the cover art ready...

OK, there is a good reason for me to pre-order this.

I pre-ordered it from a local acclaimed independent comic shop to support them in this time of plague, while realising that ordering a book for which they can't collect money from me before next April is the worst possible way of doing that.

Quote
The New York Times Bestselling ACHEWOOD returns to print in this massive new omnibus series, collecting the complete comics from start to finish! Volume 1 includes the first 600+ strips in chronological order, alongside a wealth of rare additional material including recipes, short-fiction, maps, posters, never-before reprinted comics, and much more! It even features an all new Achewood short story by series creator Chris Onstad! Tremendously influential and darkly hilarious, Achewood quickly and expertly subverts the genre expectations of the daily strip with razor sharp with and deeply human explorations of depression, relationships, masculinity, death, and selling your soul to the devil to become a billionaire.

That's a long nights travel for some talking cats, one of whom passes for a dog, and a special-boy otter drawn like a wiener.
