AD&D was never as good as the original, but then I moved off both fairly fast anyway.
The only liveaction I played was GURPS Star Wars, and that was, well, amusing. No steam tunnels, just student unions at night.

Nothing like pretending an SU bar is Mos Eisley Space Port and that the spotty nerd opposite you is an evil bounty hunter.

One of my friends was talking to yet ANOTHER one of my friends, and mentioned how he had just been diagnosed with ADD (Attention Defecit Disorder..i think). The other friend paused for a moment and asked, "Advanced Dungeons and Dragons?"
And that is why the other friend is the coolest person ever.

During high school, when I was playing AD&D fairly frequently, my mother almost always referred to it as "ADD" -- as in "you'll be playing ADD at Micah's house, right?" or "Andy from your ADD group called." This might not have been quite as funny if it hadn't been that so many of my fellow players did have ADD in one form or another.
