Title: Isn't that thoughtful of Onstad...
Post by: AugustWest on April 27, 2006, 01:24:47 pm
As a gift for Jough's 30th birthday, he included him in a bit.  Awwwww.  That fuck*ng guy!

Eerie, I tell you. Eerie.

(Part of me is tempted to register despite the fact that this is blatantly just pseudo-performance-art. Sigh.)

This reminds me of when YTMND started producing bits from the alternate universe, PTKFGS. I got a little scared.

There are some lines that just shouldn't be crossed.  This is one such line.  It's like I'm watching Ghostbusters and they totally crossed the streams and I'm all "Daaaaamn man, that is a terrible application of oneself."

it's okay, chris, i've had ideas like that too.

Wait... what?  What... where...? I'm so confused.

We're discussion the new Trashspotting forum (http://www.buyawhiteguyasubscriptiontoebony.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=10).

Dang, I don't think "jough" had an avatar when I was there earlier. Nice.

My very first car was a 1972 Ford Torino.  That could be cool to draw.

I miss that car.  Thank God I don't have to fuel it, though.

Wow.  I.  Uh...

So cock rub warriors actually do fight.  Like... with their cocks. I don't read the blogs much, so I am both confused and not interested enought to fully invest the related time to bother to understand what is going on.  Looks like God's Own Dick got out dicked by the master dick.

The level of dickery there is... wow.  Just... unnessisarily mean and off mark, but in such a hugely dickish way that I can't help but be conflicted.  fuck.

Don't worry jough - it wasn't that long ago that I wrote a well thought out letter about toaster ovens, all trying to be helpful.  Your ass will stop bleeding in a week or so - just avoid Indian food for a while, okay?

I'm hella disappointed. Here I was hoping that I would get to watch Onstad argue with himself for hours of joy.

Anyway, I just registered my nick preemptively to prevent such low shenanigans.

Okay, so people can actually register there?

Now of course we won't know who actually registered themselves and who Onstad registered, well, other than the ones that have insults about themselves as "Bios" I guess.

Yeah, kinda low shenanigans, though.  I mean, Onstad has an actual account here and can post whenever he wants.  It's not like I created a fake account called "Chris Onstad" and posted things for him like "I couldn't post a strip today because I was too busy drinking and beating my wife.  Hell of blogz stylez yo.  That Achewood Varsity t-shirt that no one was buying is now available in 'Cranberry' so maybe now that it's available in this new color you'll buy it?  Please?  My baby girl is so cute.  You know so because I tell you so every day.  Baby needs a new pair of shoes!  Maybe you could buy a book of the same strips that are on the net that I made at Kinkos.  I'll put a half a cent's worth of ink on it for an extra $10. C'mon,  man, think of the children!  I post a strip at LEAST twice a week for you fucks!  Maybe if you bought more merch I wouldn't hate my fanbase so much.  Think about it.  Baby update: The baby just sneezed.  The snot formed an exact scale replica of the country of Argentina on the carpet."

Title: Re: Isn't that thoughtful of Onstad...
Post by: jough on April 27, 2006, 04:04:53 pm
Yeah, also evidently there were four posts posted as "jough" that are gone now too.  As satire, it kinda lacks teeth.  So much work for such a disappointing effort.

I love how someone else has also registered "The Real Jough."  It is nice to be famous.  But take note: I won't be registering there, so it's all someone else.  It wouldn't be the first time someone impersonated me on the internet.  And I'm sure it won't be the last.  Ho hum.

I don't think that it's Onstad.

It appears to be the work of a 19 year old from Seattle.

With the worst myspace page ever.

(This is all gleaned from the site's whois db entry.  Which, while it may not be truthful, it seems unlike Onstad.   Also the domain  buyawhiteguyasubscriptiontoebony.org is seriously lowbrow, which doesn't seem Onstad's style.)

Title: Re: Isn't that thoughtful of Onstad...
Post by: V-Adore on April 27, 2006, 05:03:47 pm
If anything, it's even more lame and toothless because it means some random dude lurks on this board enough to want to create parodies of us, but doesn't have the sack to actually say anything to our faces. Unknown Parodist: this is man-time, and you got to come real.

Alternately, it could all be the revenge of THE SUGAH RAIN.

It was indeed a thing to behold wombat, basically you missed some insainly cruel insults directed at jough, via someone writing as if they were jough, or maybe more broadly the Achewood fanbase a la jough.  Like really angry.  REALLY Angry.  Like jough raped Onstad's baby on a live web-cast and Onstad set out for equal revenge type thing. The posts were disappearing as I was reading them.  Clearly from other posts above, I missed some stuff too.  Weird that so much effort was placed on something so short lived.

Yeah, the quality didn't match Onstad, so who knows.  Onstad or an imposter, I don't get it, so to said lurker (since you're clearly lurking here):  If you hate jough et all so much, then don't lurk here, and you'll be fine and have more time to do whatever it is we're interfearing with.

This is all so incredibly saddening. The Saddest Thing. Is this forum Onstad run? If so, I can imagine him hoping for a glorious, intellectual, stimulating discussion website where no-one is a dick, and now it is the not-so proverbial Dumbrella Forum.

If it isn't Onstad running it, it is a poor dude with a lot of locking to do.

That dude sure showed you, Jough.

Never before have I seen someone taken to task with such effort... in effigy.

(It's unrelated but I'm also picturing someone in an apartment painting lips and eyes on their hand, maybe taping a specific name to their thumb like a shirt, and then having a battle of wits, and eventually claiming victory over their opponent.  He will defeat you, as he was trained by Seņor Wences)

I missed all the real fun but it seems a little strange to me that people are going to register for a message board to talk to imaginary alive stuffed animals.

Also, one post in one of the remaining forums has the guy talking about his 'Adult TS Adventures'. Type that into a search engine and see what happens!

Did all of you whose names I see there actually register there or is your handle being hijacked?

Seriously, any kind of computer magic where you would substitute numbers for letters in conversation is not called for, and I'm doubting any toumbs of official nature would condone that.

Also: You seem to ask "Why am I registered here" a lot.  Well, twice.  Which, as that question being the meat of post #1 and #11, is a lot.

Yeah, as parody of this board it's kind of lame.  Thanks to August's saving the thread, though, I'm surprised at just the sheer amount of typing the dude must have done.  The man who made that page has no business ever telling anyone else they have no life.

Also, the dude got confused a little, as I don't think anyone here is involved with the GOF Wiki.

Uhm, how is Trashless in Seattle a parody of this board? Maybe I'm wrong but isn't Onstad just Roast Beef, Emeril, and Spongebath and the fake joughs and so on was just other users? I mean, the threads did get closed.

Anyways, I'm not sure what it is, but I laughed pretty hard.

Edit: oh, you were talking about that specific thread.
Title: Re: Isn't that thoughtful of Onstad...
Post by: jough on April 27, 2006, 07:50:45 pm
Yeah, looking at the threads that remained it's apparent that the dude running that board is actually earnest in just keeping it a Seattle Trashspotting fan site, and it looks like it could be sorta fun.  I'll probably even link to it in the soon to be coming Touamb Unofficial Links thingie.  I guess some others co-opted it to poke fun at us - probably some of the old Dumbrellaites that for whatever reason never made the transition here.  Or did, and weren't exactly welcomed because they were assholes.

The dumb part is that it doesn't even sound like jough.

I registered on there, not that I think anybody on the internet would bother to imitate me. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, so maybe jough is cooler than all of us now.

I thought the message board was a cool idea, especially if all the characters register. It would be kind of like the blogs except even more ridiculous. But I'm not opposed to things which are ridiculous.

When I was in school elementary school went up to 8th grade.  I turned 12 towards the end of 6th grade.

So it's understandable that a man of your age pretending to be a 12 year old would make that mistake.  I get it.  When I was in elementry school it went to the 5th. grade.  6th. through 8th. grades were called Jr. High.

paul-- that is the real way. they are just making that shit up.
I hope. I mean... did Junior High go away for a while?

ok, another good question: do you call it "Senior High," or "High School," or what? My dad calls it Senior High, and I am wondering if this is a regional thing (he is from Boston).
Title: Re: Isn't that thoughtful of Onstad...
Post by: pmcd9 on April 29, 2006, 07:43:37 pm
I've used Senior High and High School.  They are interchangable.  I think Senior High is going away though because Junior High is now called Middle School.  Also, a lot of highschools around here, or rather in Houston, I forget sometimes that i'm not around Houston right now, are subdivided even further.  A lot of 9th. grade campus's cropping up.  Or they will build a new high school nearby the old one and it'll just be for 11th. and 12 graders and the 9th. and 10th. graders will go to the old school.  Or vice versa.  I don't what you might call that kind of school?  Of course 1st. grade is actually 2nd. grade if you count Kindergarden.  And some kids go to school for a couple of years before that even.  So what grade are you in The Inevitible, 14, 15, 16?

Also, I thought it was pretty clear that I was insinuating that Jough was posing as the 12 year old.

Oh and another thing. I had a brief snippet of a dream last night that involved some of you.  There were probably about 5 or six of us there, all members of this board, dream logic said so even though the only one I can identify was Jough.  We were walking out of a building and I said well Joe (Jough) where are we going now?  Everyone else just gasped... "Joe, I thought his name was Jeff?"  "I thought it was Jefe?"  "Jefe, that's stupid, his name is Jog."  Jough just crossed his arms and grinned.

Lower School: Kindergarten through 5th Grade
Middle School: 6th Grade through 8th Grade
Upper School: 9th Grade through 12th Grade

This is how it is done at prep school.

Maybe it's a Southern prep school thing.  Regardless, a high-five from my school to yours!

Well, I went to a Catholic elementary school.  The public schools, when I was a kid, went up to 6th grade, and then the Junior High was 7-9, and then the Senior High was 10-12.  I left Catholic school after 6th grade, which in hindsight was a mistake but at the time felt like FREEDOM.

After my first year of Jr. High (7th grade) it switched over to a middle school, so I only spent two years at the Jr. High and then four years at the high school.

Flip: That one's free.  The next one will cost you.

Also, I am only related to seven other people named Dempsey.  And Mr. AugustWest is not one of them, although I tend to think of him as a long-lost cousin (although not long-lost enough, if you get my meaning).

Also, Paul, I always suspected you dreamt about me.  But now I know for sure.  Cut it out.  You're a fine guy, but I just don't dig you like that.

I went to catholic schools right through high school. Elementary school ran until the end of grade 8, the four/ five years of high school (it was in Ontario, which had grade 13 at the time). The public school kids across the street did junior high for grades 7 and 8.

At my Southern prep school, Lower School was K - 6 and Upper School was 7 - 12.

In one town, where I went to elementary school, Elementary was 1 - 4, Middle School was 5 - 6, Junior High 7 - 8 and High School 9 - 12.

Then I moved, and Elementary was K - 6, Junior High 7 - 9 and HS 10 - 12.

Whatever.

Here in Manitoba, for over 10 years now, Grades 9 - 12 are known, on paper at least as Senior 1 - Senior 4, but generally, most people still call them Grades 9-12 - even teachers I talk to every day.

Where I grew up, waaaaaaaaay Upstate New York, K-6 was "elementary" 7 & 8 were "junior high" and 9 - 12 were "senior high" even though the junior and senior high were in the same building... though eventually, years after I graduated it was rebuilt and separated into a 6 - 8 "middle school" and a 9 - 12 "high school". Though, of course, the local slang resisted the change.

See, I laughed at that too wombat, but in jough giving you 4100 cans, tossing you one can seems so pointless.

Oh what the hell, here's another tiny can.

Yeah.. I've basically stopped even giving them out for this very reason.  Now I laugh and then smile in a self-satisfied wistfull way, and maybe I swirl a snifter of Scotch or some such... this is what I do now instead.

Really, every last tiny can is pathetically appreciated.  Thank you.
