... and as such on hiatus. See y'all in a week or so.
(This is mostly to stave off the "Where's V?!" post.)
-
No photographs??
-
Yayy V!
I, too, graduated.
Soon, I will have pictures of:
me graduating
and:
our senior prank. And by Our, I mean the one my friend and I did.
We got weedkiller (DO NOT USE ON LAWNS! WILL KILL GRASS!) and yellow spray paint.
there is now a big, dead, yellow "06" in the middle of our school's football field.
I am really sad that no one else in our class noticed this.
the night we did it, Onstad posted the comic ending with "The Boys are Back in Town"
I told my friend this, and he spit out his soda.
-
Congratulations Grads! Welcome to your exciting new life.
-
It's all downhill from here!
Congrats.
-
That is some sweet tea and titties, people. Nice work.
-
Way to complete your courses of study. Unfortunatly, the real learning starts now! Mwaha ha ha!
-
...did your keynote speaker tell your class to be prepared to move back in with their parents for years and years, because everything is screwed up and no one is gonna do you any favours, so you might as well not starve?
Yeah. There probably could've been something better for that guy to say.
-
Congrats, V. What's your degree in?
-
Wheeee! Graduation. That kinda reminds me of mine, when my moms told me, "Well, you'll be thirty before you know it."
Me: "Thanks, Mom."
So yeah. Have fun on your graduated hiatus! Away from the intarwub!
-
Congrats you guys.
I'm looking forward to that myself, got it coming up at the end of the year (Providing I do some work on my project instead of reading message boards all day), actually looking forward to working for a bit and having some money. Then probably diving back into burden-on-the-system-studenthood after about a year or two.
-
this guy who is a teacher at our school gave us this great speech (not at graduation... at the "senior dinner"), about how we are now the lowest rung of society. We have high school educations, but are unemployed.
everyone laughed like it was a joke.
-
Congrats!
Have a good hiatus... which... kind of sounds like a disease if you think about it.
"Damn, V is out, she stone cold got the hiatus dude."
"Oh man, not hiatus.. that is... that is some black beans."
-
Congratulations V. Cap and Gown photos?
You too tI.
~Paul
-
Congratulations! En
As Jerry Zucker said at my college commencement speech (best commencement speaker ever!), don't own more stuff than you can comfortably throw in a car and move across the country on a whim.
-
um, a non-cap picture is to be had here (http://photos-015.facebook.com/ip007/v28/75/45/1401570040/n1401570040_30024015_5961.jpg)
sadly,I threw my cap and never found it. so I don't think there are any pictures with the cap.
I am on the left. In the middle, a really good friend, who is going to the University of Chicago. on the right, probably my best friend. he did the spray-paint thing with me. he is going to the air force academy next year. he wants to be an astronaut!
as long as I am posting pictures, l@@k! (http://photos-316.facebook.com/ip005/v19/206/90/1401570298/n1401570298_30024316_1321.jpg)
I am sorry that my friend does not know how to rotate a picture, or take pictures in focus.
there was also a picture of me with that shirt and a big hammer. But not the hat. So sad!
...I showed you guys the picture of me in the red dress once, right?
-
...I showed you guys the picture of me in the red dress once, right?
All I can add about that photo is that the lady in the middle is going to bite you.
As for the red dress, I think everyone saw that. You better never show your face around the SomethingAwful forums.
Disclaimer: I am not a member of the SomethingAwful forums. I would not pay money to hang around with jerks. I can do that here for free! -sting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sting_%28percussion%29)-
Woah, that sounded unnecessarily harsh. My apologies to you awesome people.
-
I know not of what red dress you speak. I thought it was a reference to Requiem for a Dream, but I guess I was wrong.
Also, inev, in that photo you and your friends couldn't look more American to me. The theme song from Wonder Years is the soundtrack to that photo.
-
um, no, it was a picture of me literally wearing a dress.
I will find it later.
but right now I am all befuddled by my new laptop.
it does not have anywhere to plug in a penis. and I hate these little touchpad things so much...
-

Get yourself a wireless penis and quit your whinin'. Alternately, get used to the touchpad like a real man.
Damn, I am sorry I'm so sassy this morning.

There are no USB ports? Did you buy it in 1995?
-
no, it has USB. but my penis's cord does not have a USB end. it has a "penis" end. It's kind of round?
I guess I will get a wireless penis.
-
Go nuts. Get a USB penis.
-
I love my $25 wireless microsoft penis and no one can make me go back to a corded penis. I hate the cord.
-
werd to that, cords be for suckahs yo.
-
But isn't it sad that peniss don't have tails anymore?
-
But isn't it sad that peniss don't have tails anymore?
Maybe so, but they got some SICK restitution from the farmer's wife. They're set for LIFE, man.
Nerd answer: I don't like my wireless penis, but it is very handy for my laptop, which I rarely use on an approved work surface. I just hate it when the batteries die. At home I use a logitech penis with lots of extra buttons, and I like the buttons. I have a button for "back" and "forward" on the interweb and buttons that scroll up and down. For games this is also handy.
-
You know I hated the touchpad thing at first too, but now I can't imagine why.
If you add a penis, how do you use the laptop on the couch, or sitting on the patio furniture? If you need a desk to use it on, what's the point of a laptop? Do other people buy laptops for some other purpose than sitting on the couch?
-
But isn't it sad that peniss don't have tails anymore?
Yeah, well, we need to cut off those bits of their tails to perform PCR and sequence the genome.
Oh... you meant computer peniss. I guess that's why you didn't say "mice."
EDITED to fix an obnoxious spelling error.
-
um, my old laptop ran out of batteries so fast that I never really used it except on my desk.
maybe this one will be better.
and yeah, I found a USB wireless penis in my house.
-
I have just finished my GCSE exams! I am a free man who can do whatever he wants.
Fuck Education.
...Yes, in a few months I'll be back at school.
-
Nice work. Have fun in more school, I remember that feeling well.
"YES, I am done with school."
"So, where you going to college?"
"Fuck."
-
Congrats!
-
Congrats, Judy. Now you have more time to explore your other interests, like posting to internet message boards!
-
Truly, I will relish the extra seven hours each day I have to constantly refresh the 'board and read all the old threads.
Also, I don't have to get up early anymore so I can post after midnight! Wow.
-
So... yeah, I'm back now. The post-graduation road trip bonanza stretched very long, thanks to some bad road directions and parents convinced that we could do everything in one trip, as long as we stayed as miserable as possible the entire time. Whoo!
Anyway, thanks for the well-wishing. I, too, am on the "done with education! ... wait, no, more education" track, although I hope graduate school will be rad. I filed my housing stuff and everything, so maybe this will actually work out. As for the photo requests: here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/Eiviiaru/postgraduation.jpg) is a cap-and-gown shot. (I'm the one on the left, looking slightly woozy. It was a long ceremony.) And here's an exciting bonus photo (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/Eiviiaru/whygodwhy.jpg) taken right before the Senior Gala (College Prom, basically), in which I appear to be cursing God for some misfortune.
-
you look pretty unhappy about what God is doing to you at that point.
-
Nice dress, though.
-
Congratulations again to all of the recent graduates.
WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD, BITCHES
-

Nice dress, though.
And a beautiful lady filling it up.
Now, tell us about this miserable road trip please.

Well, sure, if you insist, Mr. Flattery. The highlights:
* My father spent the entire packing process harrassing me about how much stuff I own ("gee, Dad, sorry I have possessions") and generally being anti-supportive the entire damn time. This summed up to being about at saturation with him before we even left.
* I had to vacate my room by 5:00 the day of graduation, which meant that celebrating got cut short for one last burst of PACKING PANIC, leaving a lot of things undone in the rush to GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT WHAT THE FUCK.
* The first stop was in Columbus, in which I attempted to get information despite my parents following around and... well, treating me like less than adult. (Hint to my mother: if you really want to follow me into the graduate housing office, this is fine, but let me ask the questions, okay? I am a freaking graduate student. I should be able to ask about this crap.) Combined with how genuinely disoriented I was about the whole apartment-hunting process, I immediately became very tired and very low-self-esteem.
* After that... Minnesota, where my grandmother is in very bad shape and I ran into some health problems of my own, such that I spent the entire long weekend either awkward, desperately bored, in pain, or a combination thereof. I really did not comport myself in a way I am proud of, but at that point I was epically tired.
* All of these anecdotes were interwoven with days on end in a car -- cramped, boring, long, inexplicably tiring... gah.
So, yeah, I'm whiny.
