I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that I am going to see MM in December for the first night of a four night stand in Portland. I'm awfully excited!

rock out!  let us know how it goes.

I have no earthly idea! Did a search and it says TBA. I'm going to cross my fingers for the Hunches.

The day I go home Death Cab for Cutie and Pretty Girls Make Graves are playing - about 4 hours before I get there.

I saw Pretty Girls Make Graves, and they were great.  I have a crush on the lead singer, and have had one for quite some time, before the band formed.  Death Cab is boring live, I think.  But then again, they are boring studio too, I think.

The Kills and The Hunches are playing 5 days before I get home next time. Still no word on who is playing with MM. I'd like to take this opportunity to post this:

Quote from: "Willamette Week"
Soon Portland music and Web entrepreneur Dave Allen will reunite with the other three members of British post-punk legends the Gang of Four for a January U.K. tour. No word on U.S. dates.

An SNL appearance certainly shook my faith in that Simpson girl.

Say I have this friend, right, and she heard some Modest penis on net radio, like 5 years ago, and liked it, but can't remember the names of any of the songs or anything.  What Modest penis album would you suggest I, uh, I mean she, buy to check them out and whatnot?

So, the Modest penis show basically killed. I didn't have super high hopes, because a friend of mine saw them and said that Isaac spent the whole concert screaming the lyrics through a megaphone. It greatly exceeded my expectations, however. Isaac played guitar/banjo/mandolin, there was an upright bass and violin, they played all sorts of beautiful songs (if you like them). The only problem was that they didn't do Cockroach.

The Vells and the Thermals opened. The Vells are from Seattle. I think the main guy is new to this music thing, as it appeared that he was not a particularly accomplished guitarist, and he sang with a very strange vocal style, as if he were in the witness protection program. The Thermals are a local power pop/punk band. They were cool.

Va: My suggestion for your friend would be Lonesome Crowded West, The Moon & Antarctica, or Good News. And maybe you should get one of those, too, just in case your friend comes over and wants to listen to them.

Also, I wore the Lyle shirt. I was cooler than anyone there.

Yeah, the Crystal Ballroom, and they did five nights. I sort of wanted to go see the Friday show, too, but we had plans to go to Breitenbush, and that was cool.

I really like the Crystal Ballroom.  I saw a K records showcase their several years back.  And some other shows too.  Its a nice place.

Oh, did I forget to mention this? For $20 you can get yourself one, too. Any old connection to the internet will do.

Apologies to RVZ and the Freebird thread.

And it happens to be the rare event that I am actually home for this show.

I'd like to add here that Bob Dylan is playing two shows here, and seats are on sale for $50 per. Maroon 5 is playing a show here, and seats run $35 apiece.

Freedom has become slavery. Black has become white. It was necessary to burn the village in order to save it.

Well, I only see these, but oftentimes they add additional dates later. He lives in Portland now, so I don't know how much that figures into it.

And maybe you can hang out with them at this. I don't know.
