Looks like nobody in Achewood needs to work a real job--one just has to make bets with Ray.

I adore these blogs more than life itself, but I just can't read whole paragraphs about golf, even written by alive stuffed animals.  I just can't.

While I do not share your aversion to golfing paragraphs (mostly because I knew it was just another setup for Ray to lose his shorts despite his techno-overcompensation) I do find Teodor... odd. Not unnerving or unpleasant, just... odd. The amount of character development that 'stad is doing with his blog in particular is... I cannot put my finger on it. I wish I could.

See, this doesn't strike me as inconsistent with Teodor's characterization at all. Teodor has always been the kind of guy who wants to be classier than he is and has always sort of been a mixture of jealous and intimidated at Ray's appearance of classiness, but deep down Teodor sort of knows that Ray's all swagger. That he takes slight advantage of him is just sort of natural. It's the way that Ray is -- he can effectively be parasitized by everyone in the neighborhood and never notice or care.

It has occurred to me that Ray is aware that he's being taken advantage of, at least on some level.  It's his way of sharing his vast riches (you must admit that Ray is nothing if not generous) without seeming arrogant or offending his friends.

It's just a theory and probably ascribes to much thoughtfulness to Ray.

No, I can see it. I can entirely buy him being aware of it subconsciously -- one assumes he notices he's losing money in bets, that the beer and lunch meat from his fridge disappears constantly, etc. I'm not sure how much he ever consciously registers it, though, if only because that money he loses doesn't particularly matter to him. And if he does notice, he appears to cheerfully write it off -- there are not many kind things you can say about Ray, but one can praise his generosity unironically.

Only Beef would come up with a zero-sum theory of cancer. I wonder when Ray's friends will start investing in belts.

I seem to recall Ray always having a fascination of #####ing dolls.

We've seen bits of the blogs work their ways into the strip, but Teodor still wears the ugly shirt/pantaloons combo instead of the cool threads he talks about in his blog.  Maybe Chris is still learning to draw whiskered jeans, thin Adidas and Kangols.

Ray=Onstad's evil alter ego; the Alpha Male with all too much maleness.

Phillippe/Little Nephew are flip sides of a similar coin; Onstad's inner    child(ren).

I've actually pondered whether it would be interesting to study the most creative and highest-output artists who create characters. Actors, writers, cartoonists - and determine whether this group, in particular, has a higher propensity for fragmented personalities than the general population. It could be that they are just better at expressing aspects of their personality, but I bet there are some borderline shizophrenics/multiple personalities out there.

That would mean that Beef = Onstad's inner moping depressive.  Let's not even get into the Todd/Lyle axis.

So, if the characters are all just aspects of Onstad's personality and Achewood Estates is just a representation of Chris's character, what does that make Molly?  O's feminine side or Mrs. O?
