is it a localized habit, or do ya'll have people wandering around in public places (walmart, mcdonald's, church) wearing house shoes?

and by house shoes, i mean from the ones that look like shoes, sort of, full spectrum to pink fluffy slippers that aren't really pink anymore because they are so dirty.

People have been wearing a lot of what we call 'ugg boots' out in public lately.
This habit used to be confined to those that liked to race their muscle cars and swim at the beach in black jeans. Apparently now it is trendy.

And 3 times the price they used to be.

I have a lot of trouble understanding your post, but if you are referring to the kind of footwear that I think you are, then DEAR GOD YES, this place is lousy with them.  Both idiot girls on campus and the population at large.  I can only hope that winter will make it stop.

This all started when girls decided to start wearing their pajama ##### to school and nobody said anything about it. Thanks a lot, HS girls.

Yeah, I remain unnerved by the entire "go to class in pajama bottoms" phenomenon that's swept this campus; I don't mind it for 9:00 classes, so much, but when it's 2:30 and you can't be arsed to put on real trousers, something's wrong.

Also I propose a century-long moratorium on sweat##### with slogans written on the butt. After observing their use on this campus (who thinks that walking around wearing sweat##### with "BEST ENTRY" written on your butt is a good idea? I've seen like five of these!) I believe humbly that mankind is not ready for this dangerous technology.

Man, you people are a bunch of squares.  Who cares if people wear their PJs or slippers out in public?  If I had my druthers, I'd never wear anything but pajamas EVER AGAIN.

Man, you people are a bunch of squares.  Who cares if people wear their PJs or slippers out in public?  If I had my druthers, I'd never wear anything but pajamas EVER AGAIN.

My objection to it is twofold:

1) Something resembling public decency -- I'm sorry, I don't care how cute your spaghetti pajama top and cute little ducky bottoms are, it's public, put your shirt on. Is it so hard? It's not exactly as if you need to wear anything more classy than T-shirts and jeans for this campus -- just look frickin' presentable. Pajamas are only acceptable if you woke up two minutes before your class started and ran.

2) Careless and slovenliness. I realize that I'm a bit of a neatnik about clothes, but what you wear is your image to the world and your assessment of the surroundings. As Miss Manners taught me so long ago -- dressing inappropriately for an event or location is expressing disrespect for it and those around you. Going to class in pajamas (presuming you had enough time not to) says to me "I don't respect my school, my profs, or my classmates, or I would have gone to class in something only slightly less comfortable than pajamas and a thousand times more decent-looking and presentable, and I don't respect myself enough to take 30 seconds' effort on my appearance."

So... yeah, I'm a square.

So let me get this straight--do you object to all spaghetti strap tank-tops, or only those that have been arbitrarily designated "pajamas"?

I just can't understand taking what other people choose to wear so personally.  If their appearance offends thee, avert thine eyes.  Some people value comfort over appearance.  I know I do.

I once accidentally went to the grocery store without shoes.

It was summer, and I just plumb forgot to put them on.

Sorry, everybody.

I remember a mother and teenage daughter walking into our local Peet's about a year ago.  I remember it because the girl was wearing brown velvet sweats with the word JUICY embroidered across her ass.  I found myself wondering who was worse off, the girl for her fashion damage or the mother for not seeming to notice.

I have to say, while I would have once said that anything was OK (bar the fuck*ng tracksuits that the idiot hicks in all the UK cities wear), but after spending some time working in an arcade, I discovered that indeed, teenage girls wonder around wearing playboy t-shirts or skirts/trousers with wods printed on the ass.
Also, the next guy I see wearing an FCUK t-shirt I am going to fuck*ng punch. They're all different. And tiresome.

Then again, I've started walking around in a big trenchcoat... (a black version of Vash's from Trigun for the geeks).
