Current baby status, 12/11: The baby got earth-friendly diapers that can be flushed. You stir them around in the bowl with this little plastic saber to help them dissolve. This update is factual.

over thanksgiving, which this year was remarkably baby-centric due to the proliferation of Small People in my family, a number of my cousins and i were sitting in the living room when i came across pat the bunny and started cracking up ("Daddy feels his scratchy beard. Now YOU feel Daddy's scratchy beard."). Within minutes the whole room was basically in hysterics. As if on cue, my mother and another of my aunts wandered by and asked, "what's so funny?"

in the whole of my family's history, i don't think a more pained silence has ever followed. seriously. it was amazing.
