I was always a big fan of Don't Stop Me Now, from way back in the day when I used to listen to the Queen Greatest Hits cassette that my parents owned over and over again.

Because it just flat-out rocks your face off.

Also have people here heard of A Night At The Hip-Hopera?  It's a mashup project that takes Queen instrumentals and puts hip-hop vocals over the top.  The songs vary in quality but some of them work really really well.

You can download it here.

When I made fried chicken the other night, I found myself singing "One Vision."

I like how everyone seems to be on board with Queen. Aside from the Beatles might be the only band that could have a thread devoted to it without at least one person being all "man fuck Queen in the eye."

Paul, I have to agree with you on Somebody to Love. It's a hit, but it's not overplayed. I also really like the album Sheer Heart Attack, and of course Killer Queen specifically. She Makes Me, too. And Brighton Rock comes to mind, but probably only because I'm reading Graham Greene's novel right now.

Gotta be Killer Queen for me.

That's the first song where they fully realized  all the elements that made Queen great.

We Will Rock You.  Its so overplayed that (for me) its turned the corner and is just the pulse of rock.

Fat Bottom Girls.  Perfect marriage of lyrical content and musical spirit.  The damned thing SOUNDS like a fat girl.  Plus bonus Irony Points for Freddie talking about Sexy Times with the ladies.

This. Also, challenging the standard definitions of beauty, etc.

So what's your favorite Queen song?  Me, I don't know, they really are just about my favorite band, nearly up there with the Beatles and all, I don't know if I could single out one song and call it my favorite.

I like a lot of their more quirky songs like Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy or Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon, etc...  I used to like their hardest rocking songs like White Man or Prophet's Song a lot more than I do now.  Although I still like the Roger Taylor rockers because they sound more punk than prog.  I'm pretty fond of the songs that slip into a specific genre such as Millionaire Waltz or Bring Back that Leroy Brown.  And of course I love their biggest hits like Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites the Dust, We are the Champions, etc... even though they have been burned out from constant radio rotation (even still).

I guess if I have to narrow it down to one song I'll have to go with Somebody to Love.  Even though it's one of their big hits I never get tired of listening to it.  It's also one of their genre songs (old time gospel) and the message really hits home with me.  I often feel like the protagonist of the song.  And last, but by no means least the song just rocks.  The band is so fuck*ng tight and the voices are simply amazing.

So anyway, what's your favorite Queen song?

Mr Bateman? Patrick? Is that you?

Well someone's de-canned me for the comparison anyhow   :-[

My favourite Queen song is probably Radio Ga Ga, can listen to that any time and with ever increasing appreciation and never increasing over-familiarity

How have you never seen this movie?

Ok, I think I get the comparison now?  You're saying I sound like a psycho when I describe my favorite Queen song.

No, I haven't seen that movie, but I have seen that scene before.  I think it spoiled me ever wanting to see the rest of the movie because it's so laughably unrealistic.  Maybe I'm missing the point again, was it supposed to be funny?

The only Christian Bale movie I've seen is The Dark Knight which is also laughably bad.

"Why isnt the insane murderer acting like a real person!?" Yeah and why does mark miller think the bilderberg group burned him to death.
Its a suspense/thriller featuring a psychopathic serial killer, so I think demanding realism is kind of out of the genre's league. The movie has deeper themes that this scene supports. Its not a movie about the serial killer so much as why he is a serial killer.
