I demand a bio-pic for Freddy Mercury!
« on: December 19, 2005, 05:14:16 pm »
Where the hell is this movie?  It would be awesome.  I would watch it. The annoying tribute concert currently touring the land has me thinking that much better justice could be done to his life.  I mean, 'Fat Bottom Girl," people!  Come on!

Quote
From Wikipedia: Mercury was well known for his extravagance and hedonism. When asked how he would live without fame or money, he replied, "I'll always walk around like a Persian popinjay and no one's going to stop me".

Ovation channel was running a great documentary of Freddie Mercury's life with just tons of interviews and concert footage.

I thought Queen was was deemed uncool by this board?  Is it ok then to confess my deep and abiding love of the music of Freddy Mercury and his cohorts in the band Queen?

Fat Bottom Girls indeed!

Bah!  Do you think I care about cool?  I'm a theatre dork for gawd's sake!  Also, though some of it was careless, I would say that Freddy Mercury was the founder of the Party party.  fuck*ng?   Hell yes!

If you like it then it is cool.  Maybe it was just that preposterous Queen musical that was deemed uncool?

Queen not cool?  Fuck that shit!

Hell, the first album (OK, 8-track) I ever bought myself was News of the World.

I still think that "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a good song even without the kitsch factor.

Also, "Under Pressure" is Godly, and I will hear no argument otherwise!

Queen is one of the best bands EVER.  To say they are not cool is like saying that "cool" isn't cool.

WTF, people?

How could anyone think Queen isn't cool?

Way to leave us hanging though, sideshow. If you want a biopic, who would you want to play him? I can't really think of anyone who would do him justice.

I think the casting criteria should be who can say ""I'll always walk around like a Persian popinjay and no one's going to stop me" in the most convincing way. I don't think many people could pull that off.
