Yeah, I don't think you're a crap dude or anything, AlohaDawg, I just think that your inner dickhead comes out around certain issues, and it's just that in the past our inner douchebagae have been in conjunction, where in this case I disagree not so much with what you're saying, but some of the conclusions you're drawing which are pretty much BS.

Taking away 60,000 cans of Dr Pepper may seem harsh in some people's minds, but if I really disliked you I'd send such as a letterbomb or something.

Now there's an idea! And I even have some people's addresses!

Is there a word that means, like, Really Ironic that describes sending a letter bomb to the unabomber?

Dude.  I hope you know that despite the fact that we disagree on some minor issues, I think you're tops.  Mainly because we pretty much agree on all the important things like music, Achewood and food.

I was in Tower Records today and I suddenly realized, as I picked out two U-2 CDs, that I don't actually know who many of the other artists even are. Or what they sound like, or what they sing.

The fact that I recognize their names I think I can mainly attribute to this board.

Wearing my contacts behing my goggles!  Why the hell didn't I think of that?  I did think of getting prescription goggles but they are so far out of my price range that I could cry a single tear.  Tiny sodas for both you gents.  See I almost never wear my contacts, usually just my glasses.  As for the suggestion of just going it blind, no.  Nooooo.  With my glasses I have almost 20/20 vision and the only time I take them off is when I'm sleeping.  I've twice tried going swimming without them, and it is terrifying - the getting from locker room to pool part is the scariest.  At my gym you have to go down three flights of wet stairs.  All feeling the walls, and holding one arm out in front of me, clinging to the rails with the other, a half naked and barefoot.  I remember the last time feeling like a prone little creature, ready to walk strait into the mouth of some beastie creature.  Then I get to the pool area and a flesh coloured blob comes up to me and says, "I'm sorry but the pool is closed, didn't you read the sign?"  and I mumble something and feel my way back to the lockers.

Any suggestions of a good quality goggle?  My old ones let a lot of water in and I'm guessing the pool water will destroy contact lenses.

I'm sorry, how horribly off topic, could someone mod this to somewhere else?

Only a writer like Side Show can make a post like that sound cute and sexy at the same time. Funny story: the YMCA's were very different in the 50's and early 60's. Boys and men only, different pool rules. I was talking to a lifeguard at the Y in Evanston Illinois a few years ago and she had the fun experience of getting in the pool during open swim time to let an elderly gentleman know that, nowadays, we wear trunks when we swim. Oh how the times change.

Speedo makes/licenses their name to good goggles and so does Aquasphere. I suggest buying them at a sporting goods store; you'll pay more but it's way less hit or miss than buying them at a department store. The seals are pretty important. So is the distance between the eyepieces, sometimes the seals are fine but the goggles are maladjusted.

Thank you AD.  Always good advice.

And now back on topic:  People of Gravity are cows.  No, I kid, but really, I do love a good insult, it gives me such pleasure when someone is uber-rude to me to just say to myself (silently, in my head) a really crude thing to them, or say, if it is someone outside hearing range and I'm with my SO, to share a little comment with him.  I'm hoping I'm not an evil person for doing this.  I mean thinking someone is an ugly waste of space when they are nasty to me wouldn't extend to people I deal with on a human level.  It is like a little pressure release valve.  So I keep it to myself, but I do have these thoughts.  Some of my favorite insults are ones I've made up over time.  My very favorite made-up insult is to call someone a "Retardo Montalbon".  I occasionally use that one to describe myself, though, when I've done something very stupid.  Another one my bestfriend and I enjoy is "Gunt"  I don't think we made it up, and I'm not going to search for it, as I'm at work right now, but Gunt is the "g" taken from gut and the "unt" taken from cunt. Again, I don't use it for only fat people, I like to keep my insults universal, but I do save "gunt" for the ladies, and always in my head only, not out loud.

HAHAHA!
The gunt is the ostensible creation of Beatrice and I.
In other news, this is one of those giant threads that pops up overnight like some sort of karmatically hurtful mushroom while I'm sitting downstairs watching "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"; as a result, I read part of the first page and the last post. If anything massively important happened other than anger, please PM me with documentation. A-thankew.

Dude, you're taking credit for gunt?

Did you know that my uncle was the guy who designed the voicemail system where seven means delete?

I'm sorry, but I'm just going to have to remove a tiny can of Dr Pepper.  You can't take credit for such things without repercussions on the internet.

Some people just either don't get the cans or are such crap dudes that they'd take one away for no reason, or for some arbitrary superficial reason.

Admittedly, there are some people to whom I bestow a can on every chance I get, for any post that makes me smile.  Otherwise, I think it wrong to taketh away a can unless someone is being a dick.

The dude is taking credit for coining a word he did not coin!  He lied to us THROUGH SONG.

If that don't warrant removing a very tiny beverage, I don't know what do.

But say a prayer,
pray for the other ones
At Christmastime it's hard,
but when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window,
and it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing
is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring there
are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them
instead of you

Do you hear that, people? CLANGING CHIMES OF DOOM. Think of the children!! The children WITHOUT ANY TINY DR PEPPER AT ALL.

When my cousin credited authorship of the phrase "No votes for Motz" to me when Paul Motz ran for Senior Class President, a friend said "He can't take credit for that. It's too obvious. A million people came up with that." Oh, is Google watching? Hi Paul. How's law school?
