Did you know...
that someone should really go fix up the Achewood Wiki, the Achewiki, which could serve as a knowledge base for all things Achewood?

Man. I got nothin'. This is looking awesome, though ... another superdramatic storyline ahead?

That really is why most people want you to get married, though.

They wanna gruffle up grub at a big ol' excuse for a party.

Don't let 'em tell you any different.

The more I stare at this strip (it's so creepy, but so well-done), the more my cynical side thinks that the Philippe thing is a red herring of sorts and that there'll be some extended Beef/Ray drama going on, while Philippe returns home safely.

But really, I've been looking at it for the past ten minutes and I just haven't a clue where this thing is heading. If Chris doesn't update on Wednesday I'm going to have a damn heart attack.

Huh.  So what was so horrifying about this one that the Acheheads would revolt and hate it?

Is it because it is horribly dull?  Is that why?

Man these strips are just awesome because of the ray/beef dialog.  It is amazing no one has mentioned ray's line to beef:

"This is him!  This is my guy!
               That's why he's my guy!"

It is a poem, man, a fuck*ng poem. (said in I haven't slept for two days, really stoned voice)

Some truly excellent character designs on these mystery fellows.  This is becoming more and more a very evident strength of O's art, simple linework and fascinatingly elaborate and downright weird design.

The hell are those things?  They look like homeless WWI vets, skin all melting off from the gas they took in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.

I like the concurrent story lines...it's a pretty cool juxtaposition.

Which raises the question:

Is Onstad getting all arty and maudlin on us, or is he trying to show new readers he's gained since the outset of the GOF a couple of the extreme sides of Achewood simultanesously?

I...

Am in love with this strip.  The character designs are amazing.  I am so creeped out.

Is anyone else really happy to see Beef snapping back at Ray?

Also, gruffle is totally entering my vocabulary.  As of now.

That is how I feel as well.  It is like an old episode of some morning cartoons when I was a kid that have like one story but the second segment is a different show.  The first and third continue, etc.

What the HELL is with Ray's arms?  He fights a few guys and now he is all jacked like a ninja turtle?

The day one of my buds asks me, 'When you gonna get married?' is the day I spit on their shoes.

I think Onstad is aiming for a very grandiose series of arcs.  (Just don't overdo it, man.)

I made a funny sound (funny-creepy, not funny-haha) after my initial glance at the first three panels.  It was something like uuwwaahhhnnhaaaaa.

The juxtaposition of the disturbing/ookie Phillippe storyline with Ray's banal party should be highly effective.

Shit, those two are so creepy they make me wish Nice Pete would come along and inject a note of sanity and security into the scene.  Those two give Trouble Man and No-No the willies.
