@achewood Chris Onstad does not wear makeup. Life hasn't given him any funny ideas about who he is.

Ladies and Gentleman today Chris Onstad has taken Achewood to a new Zenith.  There has always been the funny achewood, then came the noir achwood of super secret ice cream parlour and cartilidge head, but now we've got both of those elements in a single strip.  This strip would be a landmark even if it weren't massively successful on both of these levels, but it is.  The dialoge between Beef and Ray is priceless, Beef's zinger is one that will be long remembered here i'm sure of that.  And the events unfolding in the forest are awesome in many ways.  So creepy yet beautifully renedered, it's filled with suspense.  It's dark, yet vivid, I can't wait to find out what happens next with these rich new characters.  Masterpiece!!!

I think the standing character is a female.

This is going to be good. I bet the creekside beings are not as friendly as cliche would have them be. I am crossing my fingers that something really messed up is starting.

Jesus.
From the hilarious (Ray totally loving Beef's observations) to the truly bizarre.
I look forward to seeing how Phillipe will react to the freaks!

Panel 7... are those his eyes up on top of his head, like some kind of botched eye replacement?

Also, the fat man with no legs.   I want to name him Remy.

I'm curious as to whether Tall-Standy-Uppy guy is in a straight-jacket or just permanently mildly amused/contemplative.

Sorry, don't have time to read all the posts on this strip, but

it looks a damned sight like those two are the sutffed animals that left home and never returned. And lived in a tree down by the river.

They remind me more of Emeril and Spongebath than I am truly comfortable with.

(True story: I just closed my Achewood tab via right-clicking, which I never do, just because I did not want to look again. eeeee)

What is that thing that got left behind after they took Philippe with them? His clothes? No, please don't tell me. OK, tell me. No, really, don't.

Phillipe being raped by two (probably) diseased horribly deformed stuffed animals? Why didn't I think of that!

It's the the fabric his bindle was made of. In the previous strip he'd made it into a makeshift blanket.

judyisadickslap: what the hell?

yeah, I think "stuffed animals that were forgotten" seems to be the most depressing option. they are this way because society made them this way!

Yea... the land of forgotten stuffed animals... we may as well be reposting the Lithium vs. Calvin comic.
