I work at an analytics company. We get free Moon Pies today. Happy Pi day.
So I am a vegan from oklahoma and I work at a cat shelter. Some assholes will take my name off of lists of cats that are going to be killed in local shelters (I get emails from kill shelters about cats they need to get out, along with other people who work at no kill shelters), and send me emails about their particular favorite animal and how they are being mistreated or whatever. No where in the U.S. currently allows hoss slaughter, but Oklahoma is getting ready to legalize it. I am getting mad emails about how wrong it is from people who almost undoubtedly eat gelatin (made from hoss bones). Is it wrong that this angers me as much as anything can? I mean, I am down for not killing hosss to make glue and marshmallows and starburst and shit, but also, if we decide it is cool to eat that shit as a society we should also be adult enough to kill our hosss here and not send them to Mexico to be slaughtered and then get sent back those sweet sweet crushed bones? Like accept the consequences of your fuck*ng choices people, and just cause shit happens in some other country that doesn't mean it doesn't happen/you aren't causing it. Plus, I am not sure, but I am sure that pigs are smarter, have more personality and are closer to humans than hosss, so like fuck you for not being upset about that because hosss are cuter to you.
Not fuck you to people here, to hoss people stealing my email and thinking I care about their bullshit they are causing and I am helping to stop just by being a decent, thinking person.
Usually I try not to get up on Mt. Pious about my veganism, but sometimes it happens- sorry folks. Enjoy yer pies.
