... take an hour long walk in a good amount of snow and 14 degree temps.  Pretty fun.  I listened to Blur's Think Tank and got cold.  Then I went to King Soopers (the one I went to is actually Queen Soopers- for the large amount of gay people in the area) and was pretty stoned from my walk (I smoked my chillum on the walk.  Any pot heads out there- I can't recommend a medium sized glass chillum enough- the only piece you ever need.) so I just walked around for like 30 minutes before I bought some vegan hot dogs, buns and mustard.  Also two glass bottle, real sugar, mexican Cokes.  Now I am going to eat what I bought and watch Memento.  I have never seen it, but I read the short story by Nolan's bro recently and dug it, so here's hoping.  I am also going to get higher and upload cd's for some people here.  Pretty awesome day really, before all this I woke up at 4, played music with a bandmate, and got stoned and ate some Syrian food (hummus- no one makes it like the Syrian's and falafel pita wrap.)

Followup:

I saw an ear doctor today, and he marveled about how I was exhibiting BPPV (Thank you, Internet Doctors) at such a young age.

He then strapped some Clockwork orangey video camera goggles to my eyes, had me sit on a table, and then had me twist my head this way and that, sit up, lay down, hunch, sit, spin, stand up, sit down, fight-fight-fight.

He left me sitting up with my head kinda drooped, and then said.  "Sit perfectly still.  I'm going to leave the room for a minute.  If I do anything sooner, it will change it to a different type of positional vertigo."

About 20 seconds after he left the room, everything shifted.  It was like 60's TV Batman.   I went from the crooked villains lair camera angle to Commissioner Gordon's office.

He then came back, put the goggles back on me, and then tried to recreate the vertigo.  Gone.  Totally gone.  I feel a little motion sick after the maneuver, but the vertigo is gone, and I have 30 dudes whenever I play Contra.

So I'm meant to be heading up north to a town called Rockhampton this week to spend a year at the hospital there. But it's underwater. This mightn't be a problem as it's meant to be draining by the end of the week except that much of the roads in between are also underwater and no one really knows what condition they're in.
Lots of my friends are going to Toowoomba, another town out west, including some people got temporarily moved there because of the flooding situation in Rocky. Except that last night it just had a massive flash flood that killed four people.
Today the news is telling us that anyone near the Brisbane river should be ready for flooding due to more heavy rains and a king tide.

We kind of walk around the world thinking we own it and that modern technology has rendered irrelevant all inconveniences. So it's nice to be reminded sometimes that, no, nature can still fuck with our shit whenever it wants.

In California, we call those earthquakes.  And wildfires.  Supposedly the Sacramento area is subject to 100-year floods, and we have creaky old levies to rely on.  The kind that served New Orleans so well 5 years back.

Today I'm going to wish I owned a socket set. I have a T-handle screwdriver with socket heads, I'll just hope one of them is the right size to get my headlight off so I can put the new bulb in. I'll also hope that H7 is indeed the correct size bulb since the owner's manual was less than helpful.

You bought the bulb first?

Nooooooooooooooo!

You take that sucker apart to get the old bulb, then put the headlight array back together to drive to the store to get a new one annnnnnnnd...find out that the hieroglyphics printed on the bulb retainer rim is indecipherable and use the book manual at the store to make a WAG like you could've in the first place.

The bonus in this method is extra practice in taking that stuff apart and reassembling.

Both Amazon and Autozone said I need either an H1 or H7. Then I found a Hyundai forum that says H1 is the highbeam and H7 the low. So I ordered an H7 from Amazon (which chargers like half of what I could find elsewhere).

You gotta take shit apart to get your headlight bulb out?  Mine just pops right out.  It's got a little spring you compress to hold it in place.  I took it out at the parts store.  Replacement time less than 5 minutes.

Mine too. And most parts stores will have manuals that will tell you what kind you need.
