2007/2008 Association Football Season
« on: August 24, 2007, 10:52:48 pm »

Alright, I know some of you guys follow this. I would hugely value intelligent, well thought out analysis regarding the current season of the beautiful game of fitba, as played on these shores.

Are Manchester United doomed to lose the title so early in the season? Which team has the sexiest players (Liverpool)? Will Rafa lose the beard? etc.

If this has no replies by the end of the season I'm going to shoot myself.

Wuzzah?

Seriously, though - I would like to know more about which players are the sexiest. Barring that, I got nothing.

Was that Beckham fella y'all exported out to our foreign shores always such a wank?

'Cause it's feeling like kinda a put on.

Ah yeah, Becks has always been a bit of a wank. A tidy footballer when he's playing well but also a cock publically and at times on the field. I think he's regretting his move to be honest; he'd started to come into his own at Real Madrid, and was looking to hold down a regular England spot. The latter looks very unlikely now that he's gone the way of most superstar footballers who are a bit over the hill.

Keep me informed as to how he does in the MLS. If reports are anything to go by he should be singlehandedly winning the league for Galaxy.

Also, his wife is terrible.

They asked the footballers themselves

We may not all speak football, but surely we can all recognise the universal body language of embarrassed macho men.

When you walk through a storm,
Hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm,
There's a golden sky,
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown..
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone.
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone.
You'll never walk alone.

The reds are coming up the hill, boys,
The reds are coming up the hill, boys,
They all laugh at us, they all laugh at us,
They all say our days are numbered,
Born to be a Scouse,
Victorious are we,
If you wanna win the cup, then you'd better hurry up,
`Cos Liverpool FC
Glorious, victorious

Livvvvv- er -pool,

Livvvvv- er -pool,

Livvvvv- er -pool,

Livvvvv- er -pool............

We hate Nottingham Forest,
We hate Everton too (SH*T)
We hate Man United,
But Liverpool we love you.

We love you Liverpool,

We do,

We love you Liverpool,

We do,

We love you Liverpool,

We Do,

Oh Liverpool we love you.

I really know fuck all about soccer, but I usually declare Liverpool to be my team because 1) The Liverpudlian accent is awesome, 2) The Beatles, and 3) the afore-quoted You'll Never Walk Alone got sampled into that Pink Floyd song.

Listening to Liverpool supporters singing YNWA is right up there with watching the All Blacks perform the haka on things I enjoy for their ability to move me.

Uh, an NFL game takes 3.5 hours to show 16 minutes of play time. Baseball is not even worth discussing.

Quoted for truth. Man, Posh and Becks...well, they kinda irritate me. Especially their matching haircuts and Posh's fake tits.

Baseball is not even worth discussing.

Well, cock and balls. We should do something about those 40 pages of fantasy baseball discussion, then!

I really enjoy watching soccer myself, but the problem is I can't watch the MLS because of that gnawing feeling of knowing that there's much better leagues out there. But I always get intimidated when trying to get into the premiership -- getting to know the players, the history, picking a team to support, etc. With a new season starting, now seems like a good time to give it another shot, though. Any ideas on how a dude might go about getting a crash course lesson on all things Charles Barkley's Premiership?
