The new miley song was played literally dozens of times this weekend. By the end I couldn't tell if people were being ironic, drunk, or genuinely 'moving their hips like yeah' because 'the miley song came onnnnn'.

pink lyics are always about how emotionally screwed up she is, but the music is kind of rock-ish pop.  i never know how to take it.... and she knows that she looks man-ish.  i think she  dresses kinda slutty to compensate for it, but it shows that quality off a lot more.

Owl City: Fireflies.  Might not be burninatin' up the charts but it gets air at my local "alternative" rock station.

It's like someone distilled any sense of edge or masculinity out of The Postal Service, leaving behind only breathy preciousness, and then used it to fill in a Sensitive Boy Mad Lib with words from an 8-year-old girl's (or Philippe's) LiveJournal.

They're from Minneapolis.  We still fuck*ng RULE the alt-rock and indie world after 25 years.  Owl City, Solid Gold, Jeremy Messersmith, Haley Bonar, Bon Iver, Har Mar Superstar, Atmosphere, it's all good.
