It's that time of the year where the magazines make their 'Top 50 Albums of the Year' lists, so in honour of the Number 1 placing of 'Let England Shake' by PJ Harvey in both the NME and Uncut, I broke out that album again.  It's a deserving first place.

'The English Riviera' by Metronomy took second place in one mag and third in the other, so I gave that a couple listens on Spotify, and I thought that was pretty good, but maybe doesn't have all my main ingredients to be one of my absolute faves.

My personal favourite album of the year is the Anna Calvi debut, and that only placed in one of those mags, at number 11 in the NME, and that ain't nearly enough recognition for that album.

Looking at year end lists this year, I really just have no interest in listening to anything.

oh, except This album again and again.

Maybe I'll download that Fluxblog thing, but really, no Oh Sees or Mikal Cronin? Come on dudes.

Really, maybe my album of the year is my friend's album. The chorus on this one gives me chills. Although from polling my friends Anthem seems like the breakaway hit. Mostly because it is basically sounds like a journal entry from this guy's life.
Seriously guys, even my grumpy girlfriend loves this album. Check out my friend's album.

I happened across an interview with Axl Rose.  He seems to be healthy and in good spirits.  I really did not care for the new Guns and Roses album, but the live GnR is an 8 piece rock juggernaut.
