But, um, should Wombat know who Pink is?

Probably not.

That was really cool though.

I've mentioned that I'm a fan of The Cliks before,

Crying, 2009

vs

Crying, 2012

The second version is definitely the better of the two IMHO.

the ghost inside(live)-broken bells

(the official video has the beautiful Christina Hendricks AND a sweet spaceship(or more?).  flying around in space(even though the intro is annoyingly long).

Finally getting over my dislike of Chicago Blues. Something just feels RIGHT about blasting this guy while cruising the city in horrific heat and humidity.

Also, in love with this video. The solos in the middle are amazing. As are his facial expressions.

I've mentioned that I'm a fan of The Cliks before, so of course the band's lead singer Lucas Silveira went and did a cover of one of my favorite songs of all time.  He did it back in 2009 before taking hormones (he's transgendered), and then after some time the band and him specifically disappeared and I was wondering what happened.  He had previously said he didn't plan to take hormones because he knew they'd have a drastic effect on his voice.  It seems that he later decided to go that route, and had to re-learn to sing with his new, deeper register.

Crying, 2009

vs

Crying, 2012

Both versions are great, but what a difference?  The Cliks' website now says they're no longer a band, but Lucas' solo project.  I'm going to have to check out the rest of the new album to figure out my thoughts.  I most like the band because Lucas' voice reminded me of a rougher version of Chrissie Hynde, so with this change, when it comes to musicality, I'm not sure if I'm into him any more.  I admire the massive courage it must take to follow his truth even at risk to changing his voice so drastically.

I quite liked their album Snakehouse but I didn't care for Dirty King at all

I've listened to Siouxsie and the Banshees a fair amount in the past but not at all recently. Maybe because they are one of a handful of bands that remind me of a particular ex-girlfriend and a particularly shitty few months. But anyway, that was almost 10 years ago now and I somehow stumbled across Spellbound over the weekend. I don't know how this song didn't grab me by the balls before, but it has them firmly grasped now. Everything, from the vocals to the percussion, is perfect. And holy shit, when that acoustic rhythm guitar kicked in around :26 I almost lost it. Aside from some Smiths songs I can't even think of what to compare it to. It's an earworm that's been burrowing its way through my brain for a couple days and I don't mind at all.

Yeah, me too.  I only gave Dirty King a single listen - it really wasn't memorable.  I've read somewhere that The Cliks changed line-ups several times, with Lucas being the only constant.  It makes me wonder if he is one of those talented, unbearable fucks.

My roommates are in a band, and recorded a demo EP. I am confused, because it sounded REALLY GOOD a week ago, and now that they worked on it more and released it it sounds a lot muddier. They need to get rid of one guitar player. Also, they didn't record the song that I think is actually good.

Definitely a too many cooks situation. I'm sure everyone thought their guitar wasn't loud enough.
