[wombat]

That is really old for a hoss, isn't it?

[pmcd9]

With hosss do you have to take matters into your own hands or do you let nature take it's course?

[wombat]

[pmcd9]

Oh no. I didn't realize it was this soon in arriving. I thought we would have a few months to get used to the idea.

[Carlos del Vaca]

I'm making appointments for the vet and the livestock disposal guy this morning.

So sorry, dude.
I am scared to ask how old Charm our borrowed pony is, because I know the day he goes down will be the saddest day of my young daughter's life.

[pmcd9]

sigh!

[AugustWest]

So sorry.

[pmcd9]

Good Doggie!

[pmcd9]

Throwing a ball in the dark for a black dog is some kinda funny. Nobody knows where nothing is, but they all charge around at full speed trying to figure it out.

Dogs can be extremely reckless.

That's kind of a nice metaphor for the human condition.

[AugustWest]

Also, when Cattle Dhog wants to get to a ball he shoulder checks the loaner Lab and herds him out of line, just like a fuck*ng sheep.

That's great.  I love that.  I pretty much like dogs better than most people I know.

[wombat]

Even a crummy dog is better than most people.

This response doesn't make sense to me. I mean, I love dogs, they are awesome in many ways, but in this case I can't side with the dog. It's nice dog behavior, but imagine a human scenario. Dog wants his morning coffee for instance, but doesn't want to wait his turn so he cuts the queue and pushes the person in front out of the way. You would not think that dog was better than a human.

[wombat]

The comparison isn't accurate. The dog example is play. I can't make an analogy because I don't know enough about sports but it's more like, if the basketball player pushed the other one out of the way to get the ball you wouldn't think he was an asshole, it's just part of the game.

But in general there is never the same kind of malice in dog behavior that there is in human behavior. Their motivations are simpler. Yes, they are selgiraffe but it's in a much more instinctive way, because in nature it's every man for himself and if you're not selgiraffe you don't survive. But they don't think they deserve their coffee first because their job is more important than the other guy's or because they are racist toward the other dog's breed or any of the ways people think they are better than other people.

[pmcd9]

I'll take your point, but to be clear, dogs are racist as fuck!
