I didn't even think to check the attribution. 

It did cross my mind that it's a common tactic of right wingers poo poo anything said by lefty entertainers such as Sean Penn, etc. simply because they are entertainers.  This one has the gall to attack "left-wing Hollywood millionaire entertainers" while claiming to actually be written by a Hollywood entertainer.  Of course it's alright to have an opinion if you are a right winger I guess. 

Nevermind that the rights greatest hero of all spent many years in the entertainment industry.

today I heard, second-hand, my co-worker's rant about how our other co-worker is not "really" Jewish because she is black.
He didn't say "she's black," but he was pointing out all of these cultural things that have nothing to do with religion and everything to do with culture/ethnicity/whatever.

And not in like, a nuanced way that took full account of the range of things "Jewish" can mean or anything like that.

I wish I had been there so I could have pointed out that there are plenty of people who would say he isn't a real Jew either, what with the working on the Sabbath and eating cheeseburgers and all.
(or, you know, thought that real hard while silently judging.)

Especially when there are so many other, valid reasons to say that this girl is a pain in the ass.

I love how this guy rails against social programs but makes no mention of the million dollar bombs we use to blow up caves half way around the world. Social programs at least theoretically lead to a healthier economy. Blowing up third world cave dwellings and taking over countries have no impact direct or indirect on the domestic economy.

my dumb uncle gave my aunt a dumb present. she was clearly disappointed. my grandmother turns to me (directly next to my uncle) and says "never give your wife a present like that. See her reaction? She doesn't like it. She is disappointed. Never do that."

also, we were trying to sing a silly Christmas song with their son (five years old) and he told us he couldn't sing it, because some of the words are not real words. his mother smiled approvingly.
