I've heard that. I generally try to avoid crazy sports fans anywhere I go.

I just reached out to a few friends in Philly to let them know I'm on the lookout for a sublet there. Even if I can't find a job there, I need a place to stay at the end of August. Might even look for a part time gig, but not falling back into the "I'll work at this grocery store for a few months" trap again. Although, um, funds are low. I have like $1k coming to me from my security deposit on my place in NJ, I think. It seems impossible that it was that much but I distinctly remember wondering if it was the biggest check I'd ever written.

Is that from their tourism bureau?

Man, my family doesn't even go into SF anymore.  I do, on occasion, but I have way lower standards I guess.  My wife can't admire the architecture and views when she has her hand over her mouth on account of stenches.

Hey Inev, read this book for me and tell me if it's good. It's kind of like a book about the recent history of zoos for people who are more interested in urban planning?

Learned a cool animal behavior/psychology word today. "Subsitize."

Subsitizing is when you look at something and know how many there are without actually counting. Research has found that a lot of animals can do this to a point, like birds that notice if one of their eggs is missing, or toddlers who can't count to 4 but notice you ate one of their chicken nuggets.

It's "subitize", not "subsitize".

Is there a word for when you know that a word is misspelled, but don't know the correct spelling?

If there isn't there should be.  Somebody dig up Rich Hall.

This "Philly Affordable Housing" group I joined is like one big Onstad joke.

Hi, I'm Quori, me and my partner Khenya are looking for a bedroom in a communal space, no more than $400 a month. We also have 2 cats, and they are truly *loving spirits* but do not get along with other cats/animals. I'm a skateboard artisan and Khenya tie dies t-shirts. 420 friendly a must. our true home is at Burning Man every summer. (picture of man in white yachting cap ?? and woman with shaved head)

Patton Oswalt tweeted this out yesterday. Apparently he and I are both 12 years old.
