Just so y'all know, I'm not really into the whole subculture thing. I'm in the ten millionth of a percent Téodor mentions:

And I actually do create unforgivingly precise jays (the other day I got one to stand on end and, ok, I'll stop now).

This strip is another weird instance in which Achewood was all kinds of prescient. The nascent "vaporizer culture" that's springing up in our century's gangly teenage years has seemingly created/responded to an actual demographic of yuppie folk who prefer their dank-smokin' devices marketed by way of an aesthetic that combines a community-college dropout's attempt at "professional and slick" web-design c. 2005 with a conditioned aversion to the colour green.

I guess I just miss the dodgy halcyon days where internet discourse on cannabis was just a couple of Nam-touched dudes running websites as earnest in their sublime ugliness as this beaut.

All that being said, though, I'm a total hypocrite on account of owning one of these things. The lady got it for me on account of birthday times, and it's a pretty sweet rig that's less tough on the respiratory squeezeboxes than cranking the traditional j-bird. I wonder, though, if Ray and Lyle had a hand in its promotional angle, because the Vapman's copy will just not shut up about how god damn SWISS this thing supposedly is.

I cannot verify its Swissness on account of my only point of comparison being certain brands of bottled mineral water.

True say. If it weren't vapes, these same dudes would be talking about the right glassware for drinking craft sours or which of seven canonized 'alternative' tie knots is best suited to a given holiday.

Still, I wonder which country gets arbitrarily co-opted to serve as a symbol of 'superior craftsmanship' in Switzerland

Given the Swiss I know, it's still Switzerland.

Does this thing get you the same high that smoking does? And is it not harsh at all, or just less harsh?

Some say more high. From what I recall, a lot of THC is lost in the combustion process of smoking, but vapes just bring the THC to the boiling point. These same people will claim that a cigarette filter will trap most of the THC and you'll barely get high. I have it on good account that this is very misleading.

They get me way way higher for the first few days then they don't get me high at all unless I take a long break (weeks at least) from using it.  I will admit to using tons more when it's that easy to do though, so that might effect it.

Smoking works everytime.
