Also invisible: debt and savings. I am putting several hundred bucks into my savings/investments/401k every month, I wonder how many of my coworkers are putting that into rent instead? Plus, into student loans. I know my roommate has tons of loans, resulting in the fact that despite making more money than me she is ALWAYS broke.

I think, also, I have not adjusted to being -almost- 30. Plenty of "people my age" are further into their careers than me. Also most of them work in the private sector for big companies. I'm sure a healthy chunk of them are corporate lawyers, finance people, tech people, etc.

Doesn't explain the people in my office who live in Brooklyn Heights tho.

If my roommate and I find a new 2-bedroom place in the same area for only slightly more money I will be happy.

In case you were wondering the demographic of where I live, Cynthia Nixon is running for governor and she's having a 4/20 fundraiser around the corner from my house.

Wild one: met a guy from one of our Borough offices and he knows my girlfriend AND a former poster of ours from when they all lived in a small town in Alaska.

What is it with you and the weird connections to former TOUAMBIEs?

Did not get elected to go as a representative to the NYC convention of my socialist group. Which means I finished in the bottom 10 out of 60 candidates (we are the biggest branch so we get to send 50 people).

Does not feel great. But whateva my GF is moving into an apartment 2 blocks away this weekend.

edit: aw. My lovely friend is organizing the whole convention and after telling me it's an outrage I wasn't elected, asked if I would help set up and sell t-shirts and stuff. I am very aware I am being used for willing volunteer labor, but she is also someone who puts in tons of behind the scenes work, and I know that her asking me this means she thinks she can count on me. Good.

Did we have a thread for "Achewood-isms you use in your everyday life?"

Oh god don't bring this up, today I told a socialist about the Bozack connection and he made the worst most ham-handed achewood references to prove he knew what achewood is.

Even after the revolution we will still have the guys who corner you in bars and talk at you for 25 minutes while you stare stoically into the distance.

I found a thread of that sort... from 2004.
Anyway, a friend and I argued about whether I could give him a ticket for a baseball game, and finally I e-mailed it to him with "Take take take. You take."

Yes, he lives near me! I ran into him canvassing for a city council candidate. But only realized recently that he is Bozack, at the time I thought he was just a nice guy from twitter.

If I remember my board history, he was basically you before you came along. That is, he was young, kinda awkward, had a thing for Andalucia, another TOUAMBIE from back in the day. In fact, I think he went to meet her and I don't remember how it went.
