This week Brady and Moss (my team at this point) didn't do amazing and the defenses I got did worse than my previous teams, but my kicker scored something like 23 points.  I'll take it.

Are we still allowed to talk about baseball in here? And if it's real, not pretend baseball? Okay? Cool.

SSSUUUUUCK IIIIIIT YAAAAANKEEEEES SUUUUCK IIIIT JEEEEEETEEEER

Now two of my three most hated teams are eliminated (Yanks and Angels), but the team with the most insufferable fanbase of all goes on in the Red Sox.

Try plywood next time.  The whole thing shudders when you hit.  Plus flying splinters.

Frozen water?  I haven't tried that.  Liquid water gives a great ballistic shock explosion, but then you don't have anything to shoot at afterwards.

Ain't nothin' wrong with hatin' on the Yankees, no matter WHERE you do it.

If hatin' on the Yankees is wrong, goddamn it, I don't ever wanna be right.

And remember Ash:

At least they MADE the playoffs.

The Mets are the team that many Angel fans are lighting up the call-boards at the LA-OC sports-radio stations looking for... brimming and laden and over-fuck*ng-flowing with more Aging Powerhitters than you or I could swing that One Big Stick at.

Moises Alou, Carlos Delgado, Shawn Green, Carlos Beltran... oh man... my boys are overflowing with dudes who were either power hitters years ago or hit home runs for one or two years and then nothing.

And it didn't even get them into the playoffs in the sickeningly mediocre 2007 National League.

You want Carlos Delgado for a year? For God's sake, take him, give us Kotchman and Santana for him.

We'll even throw in Shawn Green. You can have Shawn Green either way, just for visiting the showroom. No, seriously, take the fuck*ng bum. I fuck*ng HATE YOU, SHAWN GREEN, PLAYING JUST WELL ENOUGH TO SQUASH LASTINGS MILLEDGE AND NEVER WELL ENOUGH TO WIN A GODDAMNED BALLGAME...

Anyway.

Seriously, man, I know the Angels thing is frustrating?

But the over-conservatism of Bill Stoneman > the poorly-thought-through splashiness of Omar Minaya.

And the best manager in the majors Mike Soscia >>>>> the worst manager in the majors Willie Randolph.

The kids and a light sprinkling of veterans the Angels have got them into the playoffs in the American League and they just happened to get half their position players injured in September while simultaneously going up against the buzzsaw that is Boston's starting pitching.

The Mets roster of former big-sticks and formerly-roiding entirely-incompetent middle relief managed to let the Phillies and the Rockies and the Padres into October ahead of them, somehow, in a manner I still can't get my mind around.

Take solace.

And, also, take Shawn Green. Please.

Except for yours.  The points don't lie.  I just want to get first one week instead of losing to a revolving cast of people.

Also, you and I were basically 7 &8 in fantasy baseball all year, now you are 1 and I am 2.  Pretty sweet I think.

Lets not forget that the "One Big Stick" mentality completely screwed up Reyes as a hitter from August on, when he started swinging like a powerhitter, started going Willie Mays Hayes on us and... was a .280 hitter by the end of the season.

While the two teams in the NLCS are the two youngest teams in the NL other than the Marlins and the Nationals who... y'know... just don't count for anything.

BOO on Omar Minaya.

BOO on Willie Randolph.

PLAY SOME GODDAMNED PLAYERS UNDER 35, ASSHOLES!

BOO!

I have the same problem with my Mariners. They literally have the best player in all of baseball not to have a starting job sitting on their bench for the last two months of the season, and they don't goddamn play him.

"Suuuuure we could play Adam Jones in left with his great range and home run power, but we have Raul Ibanez with his veteran presence and charming interviews! Never mind his lack of range and rapidly declining bat speed, the man's a veteran! Adam Jones is practically still a teenager!"

Seriously, if there's one thing the NL has taught us with these playoffs, it's that veteran experience is bullshit.

If Manny and Ortiz would have been this good the last two weeks of the regular season I could have won it.  Oh well, at least it looks like the Red Sox got a decent chance to make the Series.  (Still tied in the ninth, hopefully they can pull this out.  Don't know how they look, watching Gamecast in the Library--at least Manny is hot.)

Edit:  now two on for the Indians--great.

Also, this game needs to end so I can study.  I am sooo close to going to watch it, and it has already ruined my rhythm.

Well, Gagne is pitching so.... be careful what you ask for.

Do I even have to tell you?  I am sorry baseball gods, I am sorry.  I will never put homework over baseball again.  Just please don't let this effect game 3.

On a positive note, I realized I am not an agnostic.

Gagne pretty much screwed the pooch, and the Tribe (MY Tribe) put 6 dents in the scoreboard. It's going to be interesting Monday  if the starters don't perform deep into the game. The Indians beat the Yankees in large part, I think, due to the strength of the bullpen. I don't think the Sox bullpen is that weak.

The bugs helped, too. I doubt that will happen again either.
