One might say with his numbers, he's Marino + Manning + Fouts + Favre.

if he were just throwing up numbers he wouldn't be so highly regarded.  I'm talking about getting the job done.  I mean, I'm not so far behind him in the stat column, but I ain't never won the big one.*

I . . . I hope you aren't telling my that my man Dan Fouts is not highly regarded.

Also, I was going to get into it, but fuck it, it's the sports thread. Namath? He's the Trent Dilfer of his era. The only reason anyone still gives him credit (apart from my brother, and other rabid Jets fans) is that he had the brass balls to guarantee victory. I'll give it up to Johnny U and Montana, but Bradshaw reaped a lot of benefit from the team he was on. I'd say several other QBs from that era could have guided that team to those Super Bowls.

I think Marino is an apt comparison because AW's getting it done by himself. He's out there, rain or shine, no matter what. However, he ain't going out the victim of a 62-7 drubbing. (I make mention of that often because my other brother is a big 'phins fan.)

Oh holy crap.  I post a lot on a message board.  I appreciate the sentiment, but really.

Also, I'm a big Marino fan.  He is the shizz.

Only problem being that AW is not REAL high on Coke.

You're taking a lot on faith there, Keith.

I just want to say that I really like the idea of a TOUAMB HoF. One inductee a year, perhaps on the anniversary of the board's founding. That would be hot.

Oh, Jeff Kent, you're injured too?

Doesn't the mustache protect you from such things?

Or were you "washing" your "car"?

As I have said before, I am going to San Francisco this summer.  I am leaving this Saturday, and probably not returning until around the 13th-15th.  I am not going to have internet access (i am not bring my laptop, and I am not going to spend my vacation trying to find a comp to change my team.)

I only use my yahoo account for fantasy sports, so I was wondering if anyone would be willing to spend their time /make themselves trustworthy enough to let me give them my password so they could rotate my players.  This would basically involve putting in either Griffey and Matsui or Willits and Taveras depending on the Stolen base/ HR totals and rotating in a starting pitcher once or twice.  I could just start Taveras and Matsui, and all the person would have to do is rotate the pitcher probably 1-2 times until I come back.  I can just change my password then.

Any takers?

I would do it, but with the way things work for me they would probably take your team away for doing so poorly.

I wonder how much I'm going to regret trading John Maine and Bobby Abreu (trade number two for him!) for Russ Martin. I had to trade for a new catcher ever since Michael Barrett went batshit insane and got himself traded to San Diego ("Where hitters go to die") and Kenji Johjima decided he no longer wanted to hit. Well, in that five-day window when the trade is being approved, Kenji decided he wanted to hit a couple home runs. Awesome. Now my original catcher is hitting again, and in the process I gave up one of my most reliable starting pitchers.

Yeah, you dominated, but two of my players got hurt and I was in San Francisco from Monday through Sunday at 6am mountain time.  I am still not at my home.
