*sigh* Yes, they can both go on my list.
I mean, Jeeves and Wooster makes it even the case even more so!
Fuck yeah. I love Wodehouse, and I love Fry and Laurie. I am always just blown away that somebody didn't fuck that up.
Hey, but while we're on the subject, watch 'em in
Black Adder (Gen. Hogmanay Melchitt!) and
The Young Ones (Lord Snot!) as well! In that episode of The Young Ones, you not only get Fry and Laurie with Emma Thompson and Robbie Coltrane and Ben Elton and many other funny folks, you also get a performance by
Motorhead. (One of Lyle's favorite songs!)I can't imagine what that would have been like. I guess I could compare it to 2nd season SNL, with Candice Bergen and
Frank Zappa. Of course, I was 8 then, so I couldn't stay up that late, and if my Mom had seen that clip of Frank, her head would have exploded.
Thanks for the heads-up on that, smick, that movie looks sweet. I actually already knew that Stephen Fry wasn't in the pu$$y business, though. Part of the draw in a hypothetical situation like this, I think.
Sorry no video for F&L on Black Adder, but I am done.
Turns out not quite done, after all. Is
Eddie Izzard too weird, or not weird enough, or should I just go over there for a little while?
