well, I watched that movie once, but it was when I was completely out of my mind on painkillers after getting my wisdom teeth dug out of my jaw, so... I don't remember a single second of it.

One of PKD's largest schizoid episodes was spurred on by the painkillers given to him for wisdom tooth surgery, y'know.

Pink lasers from outer-space speaking on behalf of God and the belief that this was 60 AD and our world is an illusion laid over our reality, like a transparency, to trick us out of getting ourselves together spiritually and so forth, such as a Black Iron Prison.

PKD was awesome. Completely awesome.

Today I'm gonna have the day off. 

For mother's day, Pedro's taking the kids all day and giving me a reprieve from housework.  Other than feeding the girl occasionally, nothing is expected of me today.  I plan to play video games, and perhaps organize my underwear drawer. 

Also for mother's day, he got me a plaque that lists all the complimentary things one of my professor said about my thesis.  I'm totally going to hang it on the wall. 

He's super-swell.

ok, I have been trying to find a post from somewhere in the last year where I lamented that I don't "get" the Arcade Fire, and Smells said that truly cool people don't listen to the Arcade Fire, they listen to their constituent parts, and then she mentioned having seen some guys who are in that band.

I need to know who it was, because I think I might be able to do an "Inev Knows Everyone" thing here.

We were a little dubious about this in our snobby urban way, but it was ridiculously fun.

worry a lot about my friends who are graduating, a depressing majority of whom I did not get a chance to say bye to. also, play chrono trigger, but mostly the first.

I am going to write one particular apartment's worth of girls some letters, and I am pretty sure I will say embarrassing things to one of them, but I'll never see them again so I don't care if they think I'm creepy at this point. I would prefer that this girl think that I am weird and like her a lot than think that I hate her (??) which is apparently what she thinks right now.
"why do you think she thinks I hate her?"
"because she talked for like a week about how she feels so bad about how she acted towards you, and wrote a draft of an apology letter and made me read it and then never sent it."
also one of the other two girls is one of my best friends, who is having like a nervous breakdown per day about graduating and leaving all her friends and not being able to find a job and having to move back in with her parents etc.

my brother and father are out of town, so we agreed to celebrate Mother's Day and my dad's birthday on Wednesday, together. So, so far my mom has received a big hug, a kiss on the cheek, and extra dish-washing from me. Oh, and of course a big "happy mother's day!"

tomorrow I will write these letters, mail them, and do radio station stuff the rest of the day.

..sit at home awaiting phone calls regarding my mother's surgery that she didn't know she needed until today.
