Freak the hell out because I have 89 lines of Shakespeare to memorize (Hamlet: Polonius) and two days in which to memorize them.

I bring this all on myself.

In other news: First day on Ritalin! Outcome: Uncertain!

Today I'm going to book flights to china and be all tweaked so I don't get much study done.
The easter chocolate and coffee might have something to do with that as well, hard to say.

Well?
I'm guessing its not the tenderloin, which in humans is the psoas major.  It gets a ton of work due to our bipedalism and probably isn't very tender as a result.

Quote
'Overpaid, oversexed and over here.'

An ex-professor who I hate used that line in an editorial about how our campus is debaucherous.

Which made me laugh very hard, because from what I can see we're the most undersexed campus of all time.

Also, this man was fired for being completely incompetent as an instructor, and constantly attempts to be re-hired through whiny student petitions. Along the lines of "hey, these students like me, and plus I have health problems, you should re-hire me. But you won't, and here are my delusional, self-centered, paranoid reasons."

He has two facebook accounts, because facebook "mysteriously" shut down his first one for a month when he sent too many mass messages. He claims it is because WashU was worried that he was making people get too political, and they somehow pulled strings at Facebook.

Also, the sad part is that apparently at one point he was brilliant, the country's leading scholar on some topic related to Buddhism (edit: hinduism), etc...

I had sympathy for him at one point, but now I have realized that he is a complete loon.
I believe that people who have put in their years (he is pretty old) are owed something by society in terms of medical benefits... but he is not owed anything by an institution where he did a completely shitty job. The students who now sign his petitions are the same ones who bitched to me about his horrible classes freshman year.

Faculty politics was once described to me thusly: "Never have so many fought so hard over so little."

I don't know who came up with it, but there is a theory out there which basically says that the less there is to fight over, the higher the perceived stakes, or something.

Yes.

The thing is, this guy does have something to fight for... but he's convinced that the administration is staying up late at night worrying about how to keep not-rehiring him.
Instead of, you know, somehow pursuing another avenue through which to get money or health care or something.

He gives free Sanskrit and Hindi lessons, and has declared that he is in a "publishing strike" out of outrage at his poor treatment.
Like, dude, you have skills. use those skills to get the money you need.

Yeah over here that line is mainly used by people who were cool in the 70s and think that railing against another cultural identity is the same as having your own.

That is the saddest thing with the professor though, as in it is totally pathetic. Don't piss on your own legacy people!

LFM beat me to it.  Doesn't everyone think their campus is undersexed?  When I was at F&M one running joke was that it stood for "Frustration & Masturbation."

The only kind of tea party I can see Ash at is the kind where the tea is dumped into a harbor to protest taxes.

I'm really not sure what level that last post was operating on. I think we deserve clarification.
