I tend to like doing business with these guys exclusively - I wonder if they'd keep their eyes peeled for a Rick or actively attempt to find one for me. I bet they would - they're pretty awesome.

If I want fish I just take it.

Confidential to Paul since the rest of you don't care: I have been playing a cheap-ass Cort bass. It kind of sucks, and I have since buying it learned that they treat their workers so poorly that one of them set himself on fire in protest, so I'd like to go a different direction. Unsurprisingly, Gene Simmons has a Cort signature model bass. Unfortunately the guys I buy from don't have a Rick currently.

LIES!

I've been trying to sell The Ladyfriend's teenage bass on the internet.   It is a Cort.

I should spice up the Craigslisting with a peppering of this knowledge!

(P.P.S.  We should get together some time for swapping my guitar back!)

I wouldn't deny myself the Rick because you are loyal to this store.  That's all I'm saying.

I'm sure they can find one.  They're not rare.

Wait, is Cort a thing (other than a furniture rental place) or did somebody make a new filter when I wasn't paying attention?

It's a thing, specifically a guitar manufacturer.

This time home, I swear. I'm pretty sure I have the correct number for you in my phone, but it is one where I put it in without a last name so I can't be sure. I will try it when I get home and see! I get home this weds morning.

This is pure snow! Do you have any idea what the street value of this mountain office is?

Hey! I figured out why people go running!

Because it feels so good when you stop!

I think I'll just beat my head against this wall for a while, instead. It has the same effect.

Nabu, you should be able to get management to let you move the thermostat up a couple degrees.

That's how you tell when you're doing it right. Cultivate your garden of pain, JL.

I switched over to the bike for the last coupla weeks so I can get a different kind of hurt going.

Weeee.

Nah, for me a good run feels good while I'm doing it, and there's another kind of good when it's over and I'm in the shower, and another kind of good when you feel it the next day.  So much good.

If you're busy, certainly don't sweat it!   I've been plugging away at stand up and at life, so ... not so much with the guitarplaying.

Finally closed my Bank of America account and switched everything over to the credit union. The woman at BofA was young and cute and very helpful. Also made a weird comment along the lines of "I wish I understood why everyone hates us now." Only now do I realize that mint.com does not support my credit union. Boo!

This.

Quote
Yeah, but that's how it gets after you make it through the first coupla weeks of throwing your body into revolt. Right now JL needs to push through that wall.
And this.

Part of running is just an exercise in being really fuck*ng stubborn and saying "Fuck this fuck*ng hurts, but I AM GOING TO FINISH WHAT I SET OUT TO DO DAMMITTALL!"

Then you do hit spells where you hit the pace and you get the rhythm and you just sort of fly.  That's nice.  And you're outside, and it's quiet, and you can think.  Then you start seeing results, and that's nice.  And one day you get to the end of what you planned to run and you feel like keeping on, and you do.

But still, every time, that first half-mile or so I just have to gut out.
