TIG find out Idaho wants $456 from me for the pleasure of going into one of its forests and murdering Bambi and devouring him.

Yogi, on the other hand, would only hit me for $334.

The best deal of all would be Whitefang or Pete Puma at about $189.

Huh, maybe I'm gonna find out what wolf or catamount tastes like.

(chicken?)

And yet, deer populations need culling while bears and wolves are kind of hurting. You'll get more meat for your buck with deer hunting, even with a higher price tag, if you kill any.

TIG come up with a Halloween costume, or possibly buy it on discount since Halloween was yesterday but I have two parties this weekend. Any ideas? (must be super easy and creative and awesome and easy)

I like Dum-dums but more or less theoretically - if I buy them they hang around for a long time.

I wish to state that Halloween parties after Halloween are wrong, unless they were postponed due to hurricanes.

costume parties can be rad, regardless of when they are held.

KY = $130 Non-resident hunting license + $30 Deer tag.  And we've got plenty -- I almost hit what looked like a 10 point buck on the way home tonight.

blue jeans, white t-shirt, red lightweight jacket, bruising makeup around the neck: james dean after the crash (my costume this saturday) i've also got some white plastic bits to glue to my neck and paint red around. it's a "haunted hollywood" theme and the missus is dressing as marilyn monroe after the overdose: a dress like this but red, with the marilyn hair and beauty mark, plus some good 'n' plentys and cotton balls glued to her arms and chest.

buy some posterboard and markers and use the scissors you already have to do this guy

a regular "HELLO my name is" nametag with "Maybe" scrawled on it, plus a bunch of slips of paper with your phone number (or not) on them. yes, it's stupid, but it's creative and easy)

Or you could come to Texas and just walk out in your front yard and shank one.

My roommates have this cool thing going where they play video games during the day when I am at work, and when their girlfriends are over it is my turn. So I look like the asshole roommate who is hogging the living room and playing video games all the time.

Get over it guys.

Yes. Use online job sites as well. In your cover letter, you should clearly state that you are willing to relocate for the job at your own expense (unless you think you'll be sufficiently in demand that you can request relocation expenses).

The trick is, why would a job ever be willing to hire me, a guy who needs to move, when they could hire someone else who could start almost immediately?

That girl I dated for a while moved here for a job. She slept on her friend's couch for a month until she found an apartment. Yikes. That only works if you are moving somewhere where you have a very nice friend, and it is within striking distance of your current home.

six months after i met my now-missus, she moved from atlanta to tampa. a week later, she found an apartment; a week after that, i brought down her dog; a week after that, i moved down to join her. a month later, i found a job.

shit happens and you deal with it. this is both life and its meaning.

--8<--snip--8<--

idk if you cats and dogs know this yet but the missus and a friend founded atlanta movie tours out of fandom for the walking dead and recognition of the market niche. last night (saturday) was their first annual haunted hollywood party, and it took me till about 8pm to recover. tonight i'm gonna get a little drinky again because i had to hair-of-the-dog it from the party, and that never involves getting blasted. this party also, sadly and thankfully, eliminates our formal holiday dance club house party from the calendar. we'd been planning to move it to a venue anyway, because 250 people in our regular-sized 2bed1.5bath house is INSANECLAUSTROPHOBIC; this also manages to unfortunately dislocate it on the calendar. it's a damned shame none of you made it to that house party, though. i kind of feel like nothing in my life will ever top those three nights.

and just in case you didn't know or thought the opposite: i love you people. let me be the first to wish you (because we can't help that it's upon us, ugh) a happy holiday season.

Rail at the cold, uncaring stars, mostly.

Couple days ago went to visit best friend (father of the 18-yr old girl I fell in love with), and he told me that she told him that she thought she was a lesbian. I almost shouted "Congratulations, you did it! You broke your child!" Girl is too fuck*ng intelligent for her own good, a jumble of frayed nerves, surrounded by young predatory jerkasses (Copacabana, Rio), insecure, given to panic attacks, has self-esteem issues, takes pills to sleep (no 18-year old should need that shit), has a domineering, man-hating mother and an absent, negligent father (dude didn't even bother to go with her to some important pre-college test event though she asked him, and it wasn't like it was super far away or too early in the morning. I would have gone to that fuck*ng test. I would have happily waited hours outside)... They did it. Between them two, they broke my baby girl.

Ah fuck, not my problem. Best thing to do is forget this whole embarrassing deal...

Nothing against lesbianism, of course (also nothing against hurricanes, the migratory pattern of mallards or earthquakes). But in this case, it all reeks too much of standard parental neglect/overbearingness reflecting negatively in the child for me not to lament it).

So what are you going to do about it? Just not bother trying?
