I think what's getting you there is the button fly.

One time a normally "proper" lady said something really nice about my dick when I was wearing boxer briefs, so I don't think I'm ever buying boxers again.

I think a gusset is what Cort seeks.  I was blown away when the example in the linked Yahoo Answer was the exact ad I remembered.  This lady seems to know what she is talking about.

Boxer briefs are the way to go. Support and comfort in one underpant. The calvin klein ones are the best, but they cost like 25$ per pair.

Trader Joes discontinued my spicy almonds. They were flavored with tabasco and I think lemon. So good. I called and complained. They told me the ingredients list and said I was welcome to try to make my own.

isn't trader joe's like always discontinuing something popular?

but srs the underwear thing is the worst: now you have to go spend money on something new that you can't return if you dislike. last time mine got discontinued, it took me eight different packages before i found one that i liked. i take that back -- two discontinues ago, that was. so i spent a year buying and scrapping different boxer-briefs at different places, only to have the ONE kind i liked disappear from shelves after another few years (something by jockey, it doesn't matter any more). and now i'm just getting cheap ones at old navy. total bummer.

Calvin Klein is what I was wearing (that and the Macy's store-brand knock-off). They both now only make the trapdoor fly version. Now I'm giving Duluth Trading's "Buck Naked" line of boxer-briefs a test run.

Trader Joe's discontinued chocolate raspberry sticks and chocolate orange sticks for a while and I was very sad. I wrote to complain and they said the price of ingredients went up too high. It seems TJ's plays chicken with their suppliers frequently. If the cost goes up too much rather than raising the price for consumers they'll just say "no thanks" and drop the product. Occasionally the supplier blinks and the product comes back and sometimes it's just gone.

It is the story of my life that if I really like and absolutely depend on some product, it is likely to stop being made. I often thing I should start a consulting company - companies can trust products on me and if I really love it, they'll know not to bother introducing it because it's going to be a flop.

Hmm, come to think of it, I should be nervous about this Trader Joe's shampoo that I buy.

Since the issue seems to be hemorrhoids, I would guess the poop chute as well.  Never having suffered this particular indignity of nature, I can't say for certain. Seems like a strange location for a bee sting.  Perhaps the taint?

Having run out of excuses, it seems I'll be visiting her tomorrow. Last 2 times I was invited over, I lied saying that I was overwhelmed with work and couldn't show up. Then there were 2 other occasions in which she invited me over and never followed through, completely forgot about it, then way afterwards sort of hinted that the drugs she munches daily did a number on her memory. All the while I was tucked in my corner just thinking "leave the fuck of me alone". I mean, Jesus, if you don't like the merchandise, for the love of fuck quit poking, right, this shit hurts (you'll be relieved to know it's been hurting a lot less lately, to the point where I think complete remission is close at hand. Shit will be good.)

She likes me alright as her dad's friend, I guess, and I suppose she realized that there's advantages to having me around (like getting her name on a book and the attendant money). To which, you know, whatever. I'm focusing on moving on with my life (and I'm really fuck*ng good at it) and just don't feel any need to see her again. I have no use for small talk in my life -- especially with her -- and, regarding the important things, as much as I'd like to help her in general (and I really do, any story out of which I can crawl not only not having broken anything but actually helping is good in my book), I just know that whatever I say will reach her with an [OLD CROTCHETY FART ALERT] and she will just be antagonistic to it, or bored by it, because of course when you're 19 you know everything. I was the same way. The age gap is too wide to ignore and I just have no patience for whatever it is the PC/LGBT/atheistic bullshit that seems to be her main thing these days. And anyway, her definition of "something to do" is smoking pot and staying indoors watching smug british atheist comedians, which I find tedious. If I'm gonna toke I'd rather have a walk afterwards, there's the fuck*ng Copacabana beach right there in the corner, you know.

So... I just didn't want to spend a few awkward hours annoying and being annoyed, boring and being bored by someone around whom I once, to my perpetual chagrin, built ridiculously overelaborated plans of communal living and sharing (much rather save *that* for marriage, am I right), but will do my best to try to make the best of it. Hopefully all the parties involved will see this for the mistake that it is and we can be spared another go.

Fuck.

I have an underwear problem that is similar in nature to my sock problem. Happily, I am going to the store today to purchase new underwear and socks.

Today at work this older (probably in her 70s?) woman who seemed Very Important based on her retinue of professional/academic seeming young people handed me a quarter as a tip with a big smile and said "and this is for you, young man." Her handlers/assistants/whatever seemed horrified. It was excellent.

This is the second time I've had a pleasant conversation at work with a person who seemed Very Important and their assistant looked at me with this face that said "this lucky idiot has no idea how Important this person is who is deigning to talk to him." I also found out much later that the nice man who used to buy sandwiches from me and ask how my day was going used to be the governor.

Did you hold the quarter up, in an appreciative gesture? Possibly, if you were feeling dextrous, flipping it before pocketing it with a grin? Because that's what I would have done.
