in an interview, dave grohl said that he wears japanese blue jeans because they apparently are cut to fit japanese dudes, as opposed to lardy ol' fat-assed american dudes.

i stopped wearing jeans because they're pretty much the least comfortable variety of #####, and they don't actually make my ass look any better than a good pair of slacks. the upshot is now i can buy trousers in a lot more colors and always have a way to dress up or down just by changing my shirt and shoes.

Our cultural mores on blue jeans have become so complex. 

OK.  If I want to wear cotton twill britches to work, it's perfectly fine as long as they're tan, green, navy blue, black or grey.  But not medium/faded blue.  That color of cotton twill trousers is simply too casual for business attire.  Unless you pay a dollar to charity.  Then it's OK.

Also, that faded blue color somehow imparts a level of comfort orders of magnitude greater than that experienced in any other hue of lower extremity attire.  How does that work?  Are congenitally blind people aware that they're more comfortable when they're wearing jeans?

if any of y'all is having difficulty understanding my sentiment, go find yourself a pair of ##### that ain't jeans and actually fit like ##### should. wear them around for a day and then again a few days later and let me know what you think then.

well you ain't gonna find them at sears of course but you ain't buying jeans at sears either unless you just don't know what ##### are supposed to be

I find the idea of ##### to be appealing, but the actual product never lives up. I wash my jeans once or twice a year, and once a given pair has hit its stride they're a second skin. A fairly nice pair of cords I just bought, on the other hand, is already starting to shred and weaken after pretty light use. Jeans are the cast-iron skillets of legwear, and I feel all this 'khaki' and 'chino' hoodoo is like a teflon fry-pan just waiting to deposit cancerous flakes into my scrambled eggs.

That blind movie critic dude said once he almost exclusively wears blue jeans because somebody told him jeans go with anything so he doesn't have to worry about matching colors he can't see.

Interestingly, use the same material for a jacket or vest, and it doesn't go with anything at all, no exceptions.
