This article is mostly about the neighborhood where my internship was.

"Ugh. Only my mom still calls me Mona, and only when she's pissed. Daddy and the rest of the family have called me Lisa since I was like six. All my friends call me Lis, like lease a car? You know? So what are you doing, like, making a reality show or something? Oh shit, I'm late for my shrink. Anyway this was fun, give Leo your number for me. Gotta go!"

Energy dissipation doesn't affect only biological systems. It is enmeshed in the system. The Universe is winding down, and if you are in the spacetime continuum (whether you are a biological brain, a hard drive filled with digital brains that were uploaded, a recently painted wall or the Monalisa) sooner or later you'll get fucked. So wise the fuck up to the contingencies at hand.

I heard a terrible band tonight while visiting my hometown. It was just a bad thing. Live music——has it always been such a grab bag? I had excellent chicken wings and beers though. If you are ever in Canada, drink some Picaroons. I live in the hometown of that beer, and it's a real treat, even if the local music is shit.

Anyway, I have had myriad libations, so it's time for bed.

"Violence of the Lambs": One of the best pieces I've read all year: http://www.gq.com/news-politics/big-issues/200802/john-jeremiah-sullivan-violence-lambs-future-human-race

"In America, where animals have perhaps a freer recourse to weapons, at least four people have been shot by their dogs in the past two years."

"The jogger in southeastern North Carolina who witnesses saw get surrounded on the boardwalk by a squadron of oversize male hermit crabs, which approached him, kung fu style, with that one bulging claw forward, and appeared to attempt to drive him off a pier."

But there's so much more.

so uh I haven’t been mallward in quite some time & I would like to go buy some items. However, I'm wondering if the youths of public places are still into wearing those 3D glasses with the lenses popped out like it's a thing.
I figure if Ima break this semi-eremitic seclusion of mine any time soon I don't really wanna deal with that nonsense at the same time as Xmas music.
