Talk about a guy who pulls his testicles away from his body with both hands..
I'm not a true fan; I don't even have the cookbook, for chris'sake.
I cannot remember a moment in my life where my balls weren't right where they are now.
I've always enjoyed Onstad's blogs over the 'real' characters. Sometimes there's just a limit to the enjoyment I can get out of knowing the lives and backstories of cartoon characters, whereas most here relish the prospect of finding out just that little bit more about Achewood.

we learned from NPR (when they started the first ever NC Lottery last week) that compulsive (ie: addicted) gamblers rarely play the lottery. They normally favor games that allow them to think a measure of skill is involved.
although, I don't know how legitimate that is.

It is perfect that Beef doesn't say a word about the fight in his blog entry.
how the hell does Lyle manage to correctly find and sign into his blog site? seriously, this dude can hardly read, much less write.
That junkie has the same real-life name as me.

Lyle can write quite well when he wants to. (http://www.achewood.com/index.php?date=05302002)
He just don't wanna.

I'm not sure what the best part of Beef's entry is: the steak "Flavor Window," or the meditation on people who are probably dead now. (I do this all the time, particularly when depressed.)
Daylight Savings Time
I do something similar, like some statistical metacounting. I'll be driving along on the freeway passing all of these houses. Then I'll tick them off in my head. "Someone is crying right now. Someone is very high on drugs. Someone is having sex. Someone is watching television." and I'll be picturing all of these people I've never met doing these mundane, and sometimes outrageous things.
Yeah, people tend to forget how well-written he was when he was forcefully being sobered up in Scotland. Dude is clearly running from something and doing it well.Holy shit, I never read Lyle's blog since I thought it was all gibberish, but these eloquent detox entries are great.

Regular-bottom women need love too!
That is the weirdest little car I have ever seen.
SmartCar (http://www.pc-parents.com/images/Misc-Smart%20Car%20in%20Helsinki%20B.jpg)!

The Post wrote a story about those like 2 years ago claiming they were coming to the US any day now. The funniest part were the ones with the removable panels so you could change the color of your car basically at will.
Do they not sell them in the US yet or did I just misinterpret? They're everywhere in most of Britain's cities, and Pizza Hut delivery boys use them (a sure sign of Speed and Handling). The removable panels are well awesome, I'm not sure but I think custom-made panels are available. If I get one of these, I'm hoping to give it an Achewood makeover.
Maybe a side panel with Ray saying 'You lookin' damn fine ladies'
Nope, they don't sell those [yet]. If you parked one of those on the street around here, you would probably find it tipped over the next morning.

Even if I were inclined to have one (not, I have three kids) I can't imagine taking any kind of long trip in it, let alone sharing the road with all the big SUVs and commerical trucks. If you were on a windy bridge and a huge semi went by you at 70mph, wouldn't that little car just blow right off the bridge?

They're more practical in Europe and the UK, where crazy mothers driving their single child to soccer practice with a cooler of Capri Suns in a Suburban that could easily seat three border-hopping families are not as much of a problem.
Europe has negative population growth. Europe has shorter distances and more expensive gas. Europe has smaller average vehicles (due to smaller and windier roads).
I can maybe see these in an urban environment where maybe you don't drive far and use surface streets (i.e. the same kind of areas where mopeds are practical) but once on the highway I can't see this being safe or practical, and especially since average family size in the US makes this a useless toy (especially with increasing migration to the US).
1) Largish Pickup trucks and SUVs
2) Ricers of all types and modifications
3) any kind of Jeep
4) Hoopdies
There are also some weirdos driving this little electric bubbles around. They look foolish and probably die quickly.
this is the part where AlohaDawg posts a picture of a smartcar-wreck, and the internet comes full circle.
we all have a party with everyone else who has helped it on its way.
I feel that I am stealing this concept from someone. Sorry.

In Ray's latest blog entry, the wine he drinks is a wine mentioned in a Beastie Boys song.
"Like a bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape/ I'm fine like wine when I start to rap."
I just figured I'd mention this.
wombat: If you're on a PC, Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> Character Map.
This post makes me want to cry and go home and drown my sorrows at the state of Youth in a nice Cote du Rhone. I just figured I'd mention this.
...Also, somebody make a prototype of the two-roses-making-love-to-a-clock logo, stat.
...And yes, the two-roses-making-love-to-a-clock logo must be seen. I want to see just how the idea comes across real clear when there's no penetration or even motion lines.
I promise that this wasn't just me trying to flex my knowledge of Beastie Boys. I was just saying maybe there's a connection between him getting that wine and the Beastie Boys lyric. Maybe it's the only wine he knows and he knows it through the efforts of MCA and crew.
I am not a big rap fan. I am good person, I promise.

So did this guy have an actual Iroquois or does Ray just think that Huey is a generic slang term for helicopter?
Do I even want to know where you found that?
This (http://www.marriedtothesea.com/042706/impress-her.gif) seems relevant somehow.
So it's not actually weird that Wombat found it.
I'm trying to decide if this is sort of insulting?
