Yeah but someone would probably wheel Deep Blue in and totally own him.

Seriously though, Russia is starting to seem like a pretty scary place again, wtf? We talked about this...

Well, here's the thing, though.

Even if Deep Blue can beat Kasparov in chess... if there's an earthquake or a fire?

Gary can leave the room, Gary wins.

If Gary has a crush on a lady, he can go up to her and see if he can make some time.

Deep Blue can just sit there. Possibly beep, maybe.

(if anyone gets this reference, they completely get a can)

hm. packing. entirely too many clothes I want to bring back. and all my CDs. and DVDs. and LPs. Oops.
issue: in the process, I went through all the ##### in my closet. And... due to the fact I have gained weight since I went to college, which is a really good thing for my health, I have 4 or 5 pairs of really nice, brand-new, tags-still-on ##### that don't fit me. I know this is going to piss my parents off, as I have always had this problem. Largely because when clothes shopping, they would get so annoyed when I said that I didn't like things that I'd say "fine" just to get them to stop guilt-tripping me about being picky. So I would outgrow stuff I had never worn.
So basically what I'm saying is that I have a bunch of nice, unworn ##### which are a relic from when I let my parents have entirely too much input on my clothing. Especially the fact that they always wanted me to buy khakis, despite the fact that I wear jeans every single day (unless I am wearing courderoys).
So. yeah. feeling bad about the amount of money this pile of ##### represents. On the other hand, the jeans I have from that era all have holes in them at this point.

also wonderful this week:

My sister: "mom, wait, I need to go straighten my hair"
me: "Jaclyn... your hair is straight."
my sister: "no it isn't. it's wavy and ugly, I hate it."
me: "WHAT!?"
my sister: "right, mom?"
my mom: "yeah, daniel, her hair is wavy. she should straighten it."
me: "...don't start this shit."

this pisses me off especially because my mom always talks about how my sister is too worried about her appearance and too girly in general (in the negative, catty, pink-lipstick way). at age 12 she's all into makeup and expensive clothes and stuff... it's horrible. Also she is turning into a major little bitch... we have gotten reports from people's moms about her being a little terror.

Awesome, dude. Awesome. (My favorite part of that sketch is "a little match for a little calculator!")

Today I'm gonna get up before I have to!!! My roommate's sister is staying with us, and after complaining all day yesterday about the thermostat, she must have gotten up in the middle of the night to crank it to 75 (24 degrees Celsius). I finally gave up and stopped trying to sleep around 5AM. I have grown accustomed to a house that is 65 degrees at night (18.3 degrees Celsius), and I cannot sleep with a ten-degree difference and the god damned furnace kicking on (loudly, I might add) every five minutes.

The irony is that she's probably still freezing her ass off, because the room she's in doesn't seem to get a lot of furnace-air anyway. We tried to convince her and her husband to sleep with the door open, but I guess that was unacceptable to them. My question is, how on earth does she remain cold while sleeping in a bed with a toasty-roast husband? Men are basically giant sexy heat rocks. If you are sleeping in the same bed with one, you cuddle up to him like a lizard does to the heat rock in its cage.

Today I'm gonna need some Nyquil or Tylenol PM or something to get to bed. Four days of sleeping till noon has totally fucked up my system. Also, my left calf started hurting a couple days ago and panicky relatives have convinced me I might have DVT and might die at any moment. So that's not making falling asleep any easier.

If you like him. She sounds like a bitch to me, I wouldn't cuddle up to her. Plus, the house should be cooler at night. That's why our Gracious Creator gave us blankets, quilts, footy pajamas, etc.

Do you... do you have footy pajamas, AD?  Because that would be awesome.

Today I'm going to stay inside and watch everything turn white under the first real snowfall of the year.  So pretty.

I have been too tall for footy pajamas since I was, like, six.

I basically physically outgrew all the things of youth three or four years before I emotionally did.

This is probably one of the reasons why I am a bleeding heart.

When I was a kid, my parents had to cut off the feet of footy pajamas, because for some reason my feet used to get really hot (they still do) and I'd complain about it. Apparently I have really good foot-circulation or something.

Today I am going to drive to my house from my parents and start to do all of the shit I told myself I would do over this long weekend.

I used to be able to come to my parents and get stuff done, but now it seems like I just get drunk, just like at college only with family instead of friends.

Wrong.  It is never too late for footy pj's.  The variety and spectrum of sizes on this site seem to be set forth specifically to prove this point.

Inev:  I had the same damn hot-footed problem.  I could never wear my footy pj's inspite of how awesome they were due to this.  To this day I can not wear normal winter boots due to my hot footedness.  Thankfully this doesn't translate to especially sweaty feet, just hot ones.

Well, I mean, when I was nine and there was no internet and I was living in Bumfuck Nowhere, The Adirondacks in 1988... there was nowhere for footy pajamas for me then, you see. My desire for footy pajamas, now, is practically nil... but I wanted them back then.

I haven't worn pajamas in years and years, really. Just an old tee-shirt and old shorts, really.

I guess I've always been under the impression that once teenagers start growing bodyhair, pajamas are a female-only thing. That's probably not the case but... yeah. My impression.

oh, see, my feet get hell of sweaty and nasty. But when it's cold out, I get over it and wear thick socks and boots... so I just had to go buy de-odorizing inserts for my boots.
