So true. But, there was a penis in my kitchen last night. I'd much rather have worms.

Today I'm gonna goof off as much as possible because the boss is off.

Tomorrow, the person who's been out having surgery, which is why I was hired, is supposed to come back.  And yet... for some reason they expect me to keep coming to work. Partly because someone else has now given notice and is leaving in two weeks.

But also, today I'm gonna dread the next two weeks when in the in-between period, I won't have a computer all to myself.

I've today spent more time here than all of you. Greater than 47 and a half days in 15 months of membership. This is one of those ways you can be a loser and a winner at the same time. ::sigh::

I am always mystified about how that stat is calculated. If I open the board in a browser window and go away for the rest of the day, am I online all day? I don't think so, or I'd have been on for many hundreds of days. So, does the board know when I am looking at it?

I think that every time you click a link or button it assumes that means like 2 minutes "activity." I'm not really sure though.

Its the amount of time youve been here and actively reading or posting. So far as I can tell there is like a 5 minute buffer of inactivity allowed for you to stare at one page before it considers you inactive. I've read a lot of archives, but that gets frustrating because I want to participate in conversations that are like 2 years old.

I think Pedro figured out why they were coming in -- our one-story town house is wheelchair-accessible, so there's a gradual incline from the sidewalk to the front door -- no stoop.  They must have come up to the sidewalk, as worms are wont to do, and then, encountering puddles there, instinctively sought higher ground by worming their way up the ramp and, ultimately, under the door.

They just want to know if you think they're getting better on the drums.  And for someone besides themselves to call them by their stage names.

(Sorry, I'm on a big TMBG kick of late.)

oh yeah, hell of old school.

I consider TMBG old-school because I was obsessed with them for a long time in 8th grade. Listening to their songs makes me think of that time.

my favorite part was "i'm not actually a doctor but I AM A REAL WORM, I AM AN ACTUAL WORM!"

today, I am going to a really cool old soda shop that is about 100 years old. I am excited for this.

I have a rat in the garage.  A fat, happy rat, since it ate all my grains for brewing.  A sticky, happy rat, since it chewed a hole in my 6 lb bag of malt extract syrup for brewing.  It's probably going to bring friends soon.  I suspect they do this because I store the actual beer in a keg, and they don't have opposable thumbs to operate the tap.  If it was me, I'd wait until the grains and extract were turned into beer, then steal that.

I guess I could put the dog in the garage at night.  She's hell on squirrels; a rat shouldn't be too much trouble. She'd be mad about not sleeping behind my wife's knees though, and I suspect mischief would be done.

..be relieved that I did okay on a final exam, then wonder what the hell is wrong with me and my life such that I'm still taking undergrad final exams.

The other day, I found a record in the radio station that I've been looking for since I was a sophomore in high school. It was in a bin of records to be thrown out, I don't know why. It was Crazy Rhythms by the Feelies, which I have described to people as "what I would sound like if I were a really brilliant band" or something to that effect. The CD is out of print and has been forever... apparently record stores typically charge hell of money for a copy. I have it on my computer, but, that isn't the same. When I found it I screamed in a really embarassing way.

Listening to it, I realized that I really want their distortion sound, and yesterday I saw a band whose guitarist had the same kind of sound-- I asked him what kind of overdrive he uses, he told me, and now I know what I want to buy once I've worked all summer (although maybe I will buy a cheap drumset instead, as I've always wanted to learn basic drum stuff.)

. . . Get an A on my Tony Soprano Is The New John Wayne presentation. Order tickets for Steve Miller Band and Joe Cocker this summer. Now, a couple hours ago the name Joe Cocker meant nothing to me, but evidently Ive heard his songs many times. (The summer Steve Miller Band concert is what I was getting ready for the day I got carjacked at gunpoint. Im hoping not to make a tradition out of that)

Dan gets a can for making me chuckle at the thought of him getting all hysterical about a record.
