Speaking of chicken censuses, today I bought a suit. Makes me look damn handsome.

Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man. This is axiomatic.

Ash is gonna be happy soon, because I am back to a state I have not been in since college-- interpreting every interaction I have with a friendly woman to mean sexual/romantic interest.

Today I'm gonna spend over an hour editing wish lists for myself, my kids, and my spouse so that I can finally email them to my in-laws, who have been bugging me about Christmas lists for a week now. It's really hard to make wish lists when nobody needs anything. And also when the kids' other grandma (my mom) can't stop buying them cool stuff between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

There's fixin' to be a TOY PURGE up in here. We did one just before Thanksgiving, but I have a feeling there's going to be another between Christmas and the January/February birthday season. They just have SO MUCH STUFF, and of course people cannot be convinced not to buy them anything else. (I can't be too critical; I insist on buying stuff for my nieces and nephews too.)

Our gifts to them? They each get a new (refurbished) computer. We found a pair of $130 refurb Lenovo boxes with Pentium D chips that are sixteen times better than the ten+ year old machines they've been limping along with. (The old machines are running WinXP and we can't keep viruses off them.) We're going to install all their games & educational software, set up bookmarks, shortcuts, make sure all the software updates are in place, etc. on the sly. Then we're gonna do custom paint jobs (or possibly decals) on the cases to make them extra special. They're not top-of-the-line by any means, but they should be sufficient to get the kids through 'til middle school.

This is going to be the biggest Christmas morning either of them have ever experienced. The bonus for us is, you never hurt your feet stepping on little pieces of software.

So what kind of chickens are we talking about here? Is this a movie? Television show? Reality TV? Are you going to be writing Punch up?

From what little we talked about it so far "small-to-medium-budget science fiction film".

Learn that Cadbury Wunderbars aren't commonly available in the US.  No Hawkins Cheezies, and no Wunderbars?  I guess we need a thicker layer of fat up here.

Yay! Don't forget to use the word "virus." That word needs to be in all the science fiction films.

I never even heard of these. When I lived tin Canada I discovered Coffee Crisp bars, which we also don't have. There was a point at which they were supposedly introduced here, but I got a couple and then never saw them again.

That sounds really great. A real hollywood screenwriting job. Congratulations! This is your dream is it not? I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that it's going to be a sequel to Death Bed, the Bed that Eats People.

If it fully happens, yeah. I s'pose.

But one call is a guarantee of nothing.

Though DEATH BED IN SPACE would basically punish.

Today, a girl tried to condescendingly tell me that Hank Williams' "Ramblin Man" is a cover of the Allman Brothers.

No amount of explanation would convince her that I was right, and she was the silly one. Even when I told her that he was from the 1940s she just kind of sighed and said, "sure, whatever, I think you should look it up."

This weekend I saw lots of live music, and came out pretty excited about banging on some guitar chords. Living with guys who are in a band, who say nice things to me about my guitar playing, is really great.

Recently we were having a really circle-jerky conversation about guitar playing and how we all have very different styles. I thought it was funny that I basically got labeled the classic rock guy. If only  you guys knew how corny and bluesy my guitar playing is. Not really keeping with the inev stereotype. I do not understand how to play guitar riffs that are not just simple blues things. These other dudes are playing all kinds of skronky shit and I just can't do it. Working on it, though... one day I will play shit that LFM would just hate.

Dear nut-sack;

Fight off those bastard intestines for a few more years, please. I have places to go and shit to do and a truss would be a bitch to those plans.

Thanks!
