I was a little zonked last night, but I almost meant to express that that idea sounds more like something I want to read than any other idea you have expressed. I think you have mentioned it before, maybe, maybe I just wasn't READY to read about the Sasquatch and now I have grown enough to be prepared for this journey.

Yes, agreed. Wait, Sasquatch isn't Axl Rose is he?

LA hell!  We've got thousands of bigfoots right here in Kentucky.

Adorable. The reporter doesn't even know the word "hominid," bless his or her heart.

The reporter's actually correct (as correct as it's possible to be in an article about Bigfoot, anyway.) Hominidae is the name of the family humans, chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas, and orangutans belong to – they're all hominids. Homininae is the subfamily to which humans (and extinct species of humans) belong. Calling Bigfoot a hominin indicates that, were it to exist, it would be more closely related to humans than it is to any living ape.

He is not Axl Rose, don't worry.

He's just the last surviving sasquatch on Earth who got lonely with no one to talk to so he lives in Los Angeles and makes his living posing as a man who dresses up as a sasquatch to sell pictures with him on the Walk of Fame in front of the Grauman Theatre. Because that's his best way to hide in plain sight.

Except around Halloween when he's Chewbacca.

Looks like they corrected it. It was something like "hominate."

Ah, well, in that case, yes. "Hominate" isn't any kind of thing.

So apparently there is discussion about eliminating my department at work, or completely re-vamping it. It is currently run in an agreement with a local coffee chain, and apparently the chain is making too many demands about how things are done. Apparently the options are to change it into an un-branded coffee bar that is a lot smaller with less hours/workers/etc, or just completely eliminate it. Ummmm. I would not lose my job, but going back go being a cashier is not something I want to do.

and yeah yeah, I know, "Chile."

they are also opening a new, bigger grocery store 2 miles away from us, which is really going to change our customer base. It will be interesting to see what happens.

He says hominate in the sentence, but then corrects himself at the end and says hominid. It wasn't the reporter who said it. That came from the Bigfoot "researcher." What's amazing about that clip to me is how they are treating the subject with complete seriousness. Nary a nudge or a wink to be found. Not even a smirk.

Finding bigfoot drinking game:
Watch an episode of finding bigfoot, drinking every time that they:
1) Cut to night vision
2) repeat footage
3) invent science

If you make it through an episode, you might need medical attention.

It was the reporter transcribed it as a nonexistent word because s/he was unfamiliar with the word and basically made something up, was my point.

Also, it's hard to hear but I'm pretty sure he said "hominid" both times and that if "homimin" in the transcript is scientifically correct that's a total accident.

quietest touamb day ever? i popped so much popcorn tonight, all from prepackaged uh packs that just must have been full of awful chemicals, but it smelled great enough to build a crowd. the wife's retail office and hq is in this super arty neighborhood that has this "flux night" exhibit every year based on nontraditional art, involving interaction or light or sound or trapeze or whatever, and my job was to make and serve popcorn at their spot. she paid me forty bucks and a couple beers, but christ if i charged two bucks per popcorn i'd have made a goddamned mint. there's next time, i guess, i'll just need better standing shoes.

the hell did you crazy joes and janes get up to this lovely autumn saturday night?
