I don't do a lot to soft shells. I've got a lot at the moment so I'll make a soft shell crab parm with some linguini, but what you see there is a simple sandwich with tomato lettuce onion, etc. It is counter-intuitive to go through the trouble of buying soft shell crabs and then bury it in sauces and fixings so the pasta dealy is unusual for me.

Soft shell scampi would be pretty good and wouldn't wreck your softshells, and would give you an excuse to bust out the cappellini and capers.

TIG learn that Paul McCartney has a (step) sister.

Like, on Wikipedia or whatever, or is there a story behind it?

Wikipedia confirmed it. I took a pretty circuitous route to this bit of knowledge. It started this morning when I posted this photo on Flickr from the big artcar parade here in Houston 2 weekends ago. In another unposted view of the bus there is an address to a family website. I typed the address in my browser window and checked it out. On the page there was a link to the fathers website. Turns out he is an amazing photographer. So I started checking out the photographs in his gallery. One of the photographs is of a woman, Ruth McCartney, step sister to Sir. Paul McCartney (It's the second picture on the top row).

It's not really big news, but it took me by surprise because I am sort of a Paul McCartney super fan and I know a lot about him.

Today I am going to remind you all of how lucky you are- I have $4.03 in my bank account and owe my roommate $183- this is a huge improvement over the usual.

Oh, also, I have 5 packs of cigs and about a half ounce of marijuana- so I am all good.

So you're asset rich and carrying an unsecured No-Interest debt obligation. That isn't all that bad, man.

Yeah, like an hour later I was gonna post fuck luck, y'all probably earned you stuff and I am lucky I can live this way.  Then I didn't.  Also, I am cool with living like this- much less cool with what I have to do for work.  Good god I need to quit.

Today (at least right this second) I am gonna be bored at work.  I am a believer in that saying only boring people are bored- I give myself a work exception tho.

Oh, also, I guess in general people earn their money- like most people have to work and such- it just seems to me our society is shitty at deciding what is valuable, that is one reason I didn't make that second post the other day.

I have a lot more money than that, and it has almost zero to do with anything I have done. All luck here, baby. I am trying to move towards a period of life where there are more things that I believe I have earned.

I am having one of those periodic times when I can't handle how stupidly my store is run. If we run out of a certain thing halfway through every week, THAT MEANS WE NEED TO ORDER MORE OF IT. Every time I have to tell someone we are out of the shit I need to make the expensive drink they are trying to buy, I feel like someone needs to be fuck*ng fired. But it might not be the guy who does the ordering, it might be someone higher up who gets mad when we have too much "backstock." Because I have heard that is a thing they care about for some asinine reason.

Also, they have things set up to encourage competition between departments. Which leads to insane bullshit like... the coffee department sells cookies, in competition with the bakery. Obviously there are some things where this is additive, but in other cases it seems like a zero sum game. Either way, it makes more sense for the bakery department to bake all the cookies, instead of me trying to bake them between coffee drinks? Right?

The third thing is that they changed our cup supplier, and now instead of all of the lids fitting all of the cups, we have 3 different sizes of lids for different sizes of cold cup (ie, the cups for soda or iced drinks). The biggest size does not have a hole in it. So whenever we open a new sleeve of those lids, I sit there with an exacto knife and cut holes in the lids one by one. This is a decision made from on high, so as far as I can tell no one hears our screams of rage, or the rage of our customers when they can't figure out which lid fits the cup they got.

No, but maybe they'll notice that a lot of lids are getting wasted be people who try to put the wrong one on their cup and throw it away when it doesn't fit.

Do they have some kind of notion about the smell of the baking cookies inspiring people to buy them?

No, I bake them in the back, where the bakery ovens are. I get in their way and make them all mad at me.

I don't understand much of what you said, but the Defy is my phone.  I've had it for 2.5 years and I love it.  Just bought a new one off Amazon for daughter cause she likes mine.

My phone does what I ask it to.  Why would it behoove me to mess with it, other than just to satisfy an inherent enjoyment of tinkering?  This is not a rhetorical question -- would it be worth my while to fool with what works for me?

Plus, it sucks rocks with the GPS and Runkeeper not playing nice together. Most times my runs look like they were done by a meth crazed Tod T. squirrel who finally heard about parkour.

I had problems with GPS not wanting to start with Runkeeper.  It would just keep saying "No GPS" and never get any signal.  Then I googled it and found a tip -- start Google Maps first, let it locate you, then stop Google Maps and start Runkeeper.  Klugey, but it works for me.
