It's not a crush, is a really, really, really, really, really dumb obsession. One year in October.

May have actually made things worse. This is where it gets interesting.

Wait a minute, I thought the gentleness was the pooper.

Turns out my levers can be set to two different settings, and the people who sold it to me had it set in the middle. I also skipped ahead to adjusting the whole alignment, I should have made sure it wasn't just a cable that was too loose. It looks like everything is alright now, but I know what to twist if I discover I messed things up.

Really having trouble deciding when to ask that nice girl out again. I feel like "the ball is in my court" but I don't want to overdo it too early. Which is my usual error. I have a funny brain condition where when I like someone I want to talk to them and spend time with them, and apparently I am only attracted to women who are the opposite. She was definitely doing an intense Romantic Interest Face during our whole conversation the other night. Too bad she'll eventually realize I've exhausted my knowledge of labor politics after that one conversation.

You mean women who don't want to talk to you and spend time with you? Or women who don't want to spend time and talk with people when they like them?

Trying to become a guy who wakes up early for work and fixes bikes and asks the girls out, but it's tough. One step might be deciding something and doing it instead of posting about it to imaginary internet people. So some stuff that was here has been deleted. But I think based on talking to friends that I am either completely overreacting, or failing to take a really obvious message of "leave me alone." Some people think they are sending clear messages when they are not.

Which part? She seemed really happy to meet someone who could actually have an intelligent discussion with her about her cool job.

Hmm. She said she is really sorry about acting flakey, she is working insane hours at work getting ready for this and hasn't really had time to do anything outside of work. Could be an excuse, could also be true. I told her to let me know if she has a night off soon and she wants to do something. Anticlimactic. Some sort of metaphor about putting this one on the back burner or whatever.

Which part?

The overanalysing part. If she's into you, you could be talking about parakeet sexual dismorphism and it wouldn't make a difference. Or so I've heard.

Today I learned that the little plastic cover that hides the nuts on my new car's wheels are $45-60 a pop. I lost one sometime recently. I suspect it wasn't put on properly after my tires were rotated.

Oh, and my underwear were discontinued. Both the name-brand and the store-brand equivalent. Boo to that.

It is such a strange sadness when a product you like gets discontinued. They stopped making the deodorant I liked a few years ago and I have never recovered. People were always asking why I smelled so great. Today I realized all of my undershirts are disintegrating, but Costco didn't have anything smaller than a Large.

Clothing sizes are weird.  85% of American males are bigger than me, yet I wear an XL T-shirt.  I suspect this is some sort of hidden marketing move so guys can think "I'm so enormous and powerful that to contain my massive shoulders, only an XL will do".

Seriously, why does nobody make a button-fly boxerbrief with no seam up the ass-crack?

I suspect there was some resizing in the 90s when baggy was the trend, also. I always buy XL t-shirts to account for shrinking and comfort but my polos etc are all L (unless made by an athletic company. My L Nike polo shirt fits for crap).
