Today I did something I've been agonizing over, and emailed an old friend/coworker from the radio station asking if he could possibly write me a recommendation. He responded in less than 5 minutes saying "of course, I'd be happy to help you." Friends are great, sometimes.

Yeah, I try (like really hard and feel ashamed if I fail and almost never fail) to not use any words that are inherently hateful, definitely including bitch, but fuck fuck fuck not saying fuck.

I love the c-word, but normally I only think it to myself, or say it in, um, intense intimate situations. One day this will turn out badly, probably.

Y'all are a bunch of strawberries.

Yesterday my boss was using my computer and after a few minutes of this he looked up and said "I don't have a fuck*ng clue what I'm doing. You're watching me work right now and to the passerby it would appear that I'm competent, but I want you to know that I don't have a fuck*ng clue right now."
I've never heard this man curse before and there is something surreal about hearing your boss admit how helpless he is like that.

ugh, don't click the link inEv. Facebook just wants to make you feel awful about yourself. It just wants you to click to see your ex's facebook page that says she has a new BF. Fuck you facebook. but mostly, fuck you inEv, you fuck*ng piece of shit sap. You need to learn.

it's a good rage, you guys. The hard part is that I know that all of my friends knew, and I guess I'm glad they didn't say anything, but now I have to continue to not talk about it, because who wants to listen to me talk about that? No one.

possibly going to Chicago for not-related reasons soon (visiting school and seeing a concert) and that seems a lot less appealing now.

I am trying to remember that less than 12 hours ago I woke up in a panic because I had a nightmare that things had turned out differently when I Went To Chicago and we were together there and hating it. Frankly, I just want her to be having a mildly bad time. I want her to be happy one day, and grow up, one day, but I was not really ready for it to be while I am still mostly a mess who is going on really bad dates.

On a positive note, I was thinking yesterday (because today is her birthday and our former anniversary) about how little she would recognize the person I am now. Last year was one of the worse (worst?) years of my life, and lately I am feeling like things are on track. Obviously I still have bad days, I panic, etc. But I believe that I am moving towards a better future, and that I am Improving and Growing. That lady would be amazed at the things I've read, the things I've learned, the things I've done, the cars I've dodged on my bike, etc. She certainly wouldn't believe I yelled at that bully at work. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I was right, this is good rage. I am thinking cliche things that I am really enjoying. About how I don't need to spend time thinking about people who don't recognize that I am The Main Dude, and I don't need any people in my brainspace doing anything but cheering me on. I do enough booing and rejecting on my own, I don't need other people for that.

I'm giving this revelation a few days. Man, at this rate, I should manage to feel rejected by this girl more often. I could probably become president.

I just got that weird feeling you get when you delete a dead relative from your Yahoo! contact list.
I'v been putting off that task with my uncle's contact.  It's a bit eerie when Facebook tells me he likes something and that I should like it too.  Authority from beyond

Today I worked from 6am-2, ate delicious tacos, had a weird sexual conversation with my beautiful coworker (she is surprised no one has ever called me "daddy" in bed), sold some old clothes for more than they were worth, bought a book of poetry and cooking utensils to mail to my sister who just started college, and read a large chunk of an excellent book. At one point in the middle I got kind of bummed out, and I spent the rest of the day GLARING while generally doing satisfying actions. Life is good. Now it is my bedtime so I can do it again tomorrow.

TIG tear out built-in bookshelves in my kids' playroom so that I can replace them with a bigger, more functional freestanding storage unit I got at Ikea last week. I cut down the shelves and built braces and now have sixteen linear feet of shelving in my tool shed that I didn't have before. (8" along one wall and and 8x2" loft). Hooray for women with power tools!

very strange: two of my roommates have been DJing 1 night a week at a local dopey hipster bar. Yesterday a local rag declared that that bar has the "best dance nights" and tonight it was like... insanely overcrowded. huge numbers of weird people I'd never seen before dancing and freaking out to my roommates' dance beats. Local roommates made good. cool.

My whole house smells awful, and we can't figure out why. It isn't a gas smell, or a dead animal. It smells like bad food. We cleaned the kitchen and took out the trash and the house still has the same smell. Like BO or bad cheese. We need a detective.

Do you have a garbage disposal? Check that. Also, a stinky dishrag or sponge in a forgotten corner under the sink can be surprisingly foul.
