Yes, inev, you are a sensitive, tender lad, and I think they're grinding your gears.  If the way you get flummoxed in real life is anything like it is on this board, then I can imagine it's just terribly sweet and enjoyable to encounter, hence why they are doing it.

Either that or they're intimidated by your awesome taste, and are responding on the defensive because they can't handle the fact you're more hip, cool and in-the-know about music than they are.

Or maybe you talk about music too much and should be more aware when people are getting tired of it?

Maybe you are looking to find more substance in your friendships than your friends can deliver.  Maybe you have more substance in your navel than your friends have between their ears.  es possible.  I don't know you or your friends so I can't say.

Aww, inev, I think 'cat has a crush!  ;)

yeah. I don't know.

I just don't get that... it is not like I came up to them and said "hey, let me talk to you for 10 minutes about this album I like." I just posted a goddamn link.

There is a general phenomenon of people being annoyed by other people on facebook where I just don't understand what the problem is. You are in control. Don't look at my page if you don't want to read it. Click the little "hide" box if you don't want to get updates about me. Maybe I have done the same thing to you already.

You would think my friends, who are even more hyper-sensitive about me than some things, would not think this was a funny joke.
But there is a general thing where sometimes my friends think it is OK to say things to me that I do not understand why any friend would say them.
"no, don't ask that girl out, she'll turn you down"
"no, don't apply for (position at radio station), you would do a bad job."
Seriously? I would never say that to anyone, ever.

Even my roommate who has been a huge douchebag lately sent me a message being all, "why did (friend) post that shit? That is so weird, what is her problem?"
This reminds me why I actually tend not to talk to my close friends about music. It always ends with either
1. weird harsh judgment.
2. perceiving weird harsh judgment where there is none, and getting really defensive and kind of being an asshole.

bah.

there are all kinds of rednecks around here  im cool with them because im cool with everybody.  but i sometimes feel like im thought of as stuck up because i dont like radio rock or pu$$ymetal.  they talk about all these bands that are on the radio all the time and i just shrug because i dont want to see any of those bands at hershey arena or the giant center or the chameleon club.  i dont give a rats ass about daughtry or days of the new or buckcherry.

My brother and I saw this film for the first time when I was in 8th grade, and for the next month every conversation we had devolved into re-creating this scene.

"Mr Anderson... it seems you have failed to account for one thing. There's one detail which escaped your... notice. Tonight, Mr Anderson, it is your turn to wash the dishes."
